I was curious if there was a standard or "goal" surface area, in mm, for radiant stones? I have seen such numbers for rounds, but none for radiants. I understand that ideal radiants are hard to come by, if you believe in their existence at all, but can I assume that since the average 1.5 carat, 7.4mm round stone has a surface area of 43mm2, that the same surface area would hold true for a 1.5 carat radiant (or any other fancy shape, for that matter)? Perhaps this is more a mathmatical question than anything!
