Hi All,

after months of searching, I found a stone. I just wanted a second opinion on if this stone is a good deal for the asking price (already tried negotiating down) or not. I've taken a look in person and it looks great in person.

Thanks!!

Round cut shape
1.38 carats
F color
VS2 clarity
GIA triple excellent (Cut, polish, symmetry)
No FLR

$14,700

HCA Score of 1.1
Depth 60.6%
table 58%
crown 34 degrees
pavilion 41.6 degrees

Huh?

No way a pavilion angle of 41.6 degrees can get a HCA score of 1.1

Check your numbers, the HCA comes out to 5.5. But assuming you made a typo, here is the closest comp I could find:

http://www.whiteflash.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut-loose-diamond-2632643.htm

You can see it's quite a bit cheaper but one color grade lower and ever so slightly smaller. To save $1600 I would go for this one myself, you can get the setting for the difference. I doubt you would see any difference in size or color IMO.

I hope that pavilion angle is 40.6.

thanks for the suggestions and alternative ideas.

and sorry all for the typo!! I messed up on the pavilion angle. here it is corrected:

pavilion 40.8 degrees

Numbers look fine, price is decent for the specs.
