Which are the best cuts, 1A, 1B, 2A, 2B, 3A, 3B. I thought 1A was the best but on the price charts some 3A's in certain colors and clarity ranges are priced higher than there counterparts in the 1A chart.
I am looking for a 3 carat diamond. On the cut grading chart it says the 53%-63% table % are weight specific in 1A, 1B, 2A grades. Do any of you know what the table % range should be for a 3 carat diamond. Thank you in advance for your help. :read:

Hi Neo,

You are correct, 1A AGA grade is the strictest and close to Tolkowski proportions.

I don't recommend you to stick to the Price Stats. It might be not exactly right especially when there are not too many diamonds to get reliable average price as in the case of 3 carat diamond. I hope for smaller stones it works better.

Tables from 53% to 58% are considered the best for over 0.5 carat diamonds.

. Finaly, check the stone with independent expert/appraiser. :)

Did I make myself clear? :angryfire:... Just joking :loopy:

Happy hunting :))[/u][/u]
