Questions on Vatche designs and setting mfging for Tiffany.....

Browsing through the old threads, I read that Vatche manufactures the Lucida-setting for Tiffany.

1)
Does Vatche himself (or/with his team of designers) design for and co-patent settings with Tiffany?

Or is Vatche more like a contractor which gets outsourced designed manufacturing work from Tiffany ?

2)
If they come up with the actual designs,
What other Tiffany settings in their collection did Vatche design ?

3)
Who else does Tiffany collaborate with in patenting and designing of their various settings?

I thought Vatche makes replicas of Tiffany designs. The Vatche #310 is very similar to the Tiffany pear shaped side stone ring.

I think that is what Todd did. And probably NO is for the 2 questions in relations to Vatche. The 3rd question you will have to ask Tiffany.

Correct, I''m a "from the horses mouth" type of guy and a D. Vatche dealer, so upon reading the questions you posed Mark, I called Chris at D. Vatche and asked "Does D. Vatche manufacturer jewelry for Tiffany & Co. and/or collaborate on any designs?" and Chris said "huh, what? No!" followed by "where did you hear that?" and I pointed him to the thread to which he said "No - and please say that we don''t".

Regarding Question #3: I imagine that is something which Tiffany considers to be "proprietary information" which will not be discussed openly.

Regarding any similarity in designs amongst various designers, jewelry stores, etc. I think the popularity of Computer Aided Design (CAD) in our industry is making it easier for jewelers to design jewelry. Many of us attend the same CAD classes because we use the same software and thus we learn from a lot of the same step-by-step tutorials, using the same script shortcuts, and often end up with design concepts which are similar to those offered by other companies... This might explain why jewelry offered by one vendor looks similar to that offered by another vendor.

I just wanted to state that I did not make any claims or statements about Vatche
I was just digging up old threads that some people wrote about Vatche.
I was just merely asking questions in my original post
