I am not sure if I am happy with the diamond I am about to purchase which you were nice enough to put into the Gem Advisor for me a couple of days ago. I have come across the following diamond on the web. It runs about $900 more. If I can manage the $900 do you think it is well worth getting this diamond over the other?

Round
1.21
SI1
Color I
6.88x6.91x4.22
Depth 61.2%
Table 56%
Crown Angle 34.1
Crown Height 14.6%
Pavillion Angle 41
Pavillion Depth 43.2%
Culet None
Girdle Thin-Medium Faceted

I hate to bother you again, but in your opinion (or anyone else) am I going to be blown away by this diamond over the other one because of the cut. Thanks in advance.

ORIGINAL DIAMOND
Round
1.24
6.85 x6.84 x 4.26
Color G
SI2 (visible feather near edge that can be hidden by prong)
Total Depth 62.2%
Pavillion Depth: 44.10%
Table Diameter: 59.9%
Girdle: .30mm Faceted 4.4%
Culet Size: small
Crown Angle: 34
Crown Height: 13.7%

I am not sure if you have the pav angle for the original stone...but using the data you gave us....

I got a 5.5 on the HCA (yikes!) for the original stone...

and an excellent 1.4 TIC for the new stone.

Huge improvement. You will see a huge difference in my opinion between a well cut stone like the second one you found and the original which may be akin to something like a maul diamond?

Notice how even though the original stone has more carat weight, the diameters are almost the same? That means that weight is lost in that deep depth of 62.2. Also the table and depth are more ideal in this second stone you found.

I would recommend the second stone hands down. If Leonid can do a diamcalc for you on this stone...I would love to see the differences..I am sure they will be enormous in terms of light return on the DC.
