Question of DeBeers Millenium Diamond

I am shopping for an engagement ring. Today, I came across a DeBeers Millenium Diamond.

the specs are:
1.08, H, VVS1

I can't recall specifics beyond that right now.

I am intrigued by the notion of the Millenium specialty.

The Jeweler is asking $7100. Is this a reasonable/good price?

a promotional stunt to create an incentive
for the year 2000.

These diamonds are a fine cut, but
many of them fall out of the ideal
range, and as for the price and cut quality
you can do much better.
