Question for gem cutters

I would like to know what is the name for this cutting style? There is only pavilion cut and instead of crown there is flat surface. Also, what is the point to cut a stone this way? To preserve max weight or something else? Thank you IMG_20220917_200946_HDR.jpg IMG_20220917_195940.jpg IMG_20220917_200735.jpg IMG_20220917_200746_HDR.jpg IMG_20220917_200039_HDR.jpg

I believe this is a rose cut stone. It's usually used for lower quality stones (although I definitely enjoy a rose cut gem). It does preserve weight, but I think the idea is that you use it for a gem that wouldn't give great light return even with faceting
