Question about titanium tiffany engagement ring setting possibility

I was just wondering if it would be possible to order a titanium tiffany style 6-prong round solitaire engagement ring band and order the diamond from whiteflash or Good Ol' Gold or something and have a local jeweler mount the stone in the ring? Just seems a lot more economical to go the titanium route than the platinum route. I'm not even sure if I could find the band. If anyone knows what I'm even talking about or if it would be possible or any advice on this matter, it would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

I have seen tension-set and flush-set rings in titanium, but I think titanium is not workable enough for prong settings. I don't think you can re-size it either.
