I'm looking at this emerald cut diamond for a pendant, and wondering if anyone thinks the strong fluorescence will be a problem? The stone is pre-loved, and the price is beyond fantastic. Thanks!

Impossible to tell without checking the stone out under a UV LED torch or in sunlight.

Strong and Very Strong are where issues can occur, but the percentage of stones affected is less than the percentage of stones that have no problems. (I can't remember what it is now - I have in my head that something like 30% may show potentially negative reactions?? I'm sure Garry H has mentioned it on here previously.)

Can you get hold of a UV torch? (Shortwave and Longwave UV?)
Are you able to view the stone in direct sunlight?
Is there a Returns policy?

This stone should be a great buy. Safe type of inclusion that does not react to UV. In a lot of lighting it can look like a D.

Do as OooohShiny suggested or find an appraiser.
don't use direct sunlight though - use shaded sunlight - as the stone should go blueish and dark (if it is well cut) in direct sunlight.

'Strong Blue' ought to be smile inducing in a colourless step cut, no matter how good or not good brilliance is. It is worth playing with this diamond in the sun before it is set.
