Sorry if this sounds stupid, but can you have a ring resized to any size, or does it have to fall strictly on a quarter-scale? So for instance, my ering is currently sized at 4.75, but my actual ring size is 4.5. I worry about getting it sized down to 4.5 because I have large knuckles (all those years of not listening to my mom

) and worry about potential swelling as it gets HOT and HUMID here in DC. I was hoping to ask to get my ring resized to something in between. Is that even possible? Right now, my ring spins and I can''t get a ring guard as it might ruin the details on the sides of the band. I''ve been using string for now.

Thanks!

I am not an expert but I just coincidentally had my ring size taken today and was told it was a 4 full. The jeweler explained to me that this means it''s larger than a 4 but smaller that a 4 1/4.

It will be interesting to hear what others have to say.......

Hope it works out for you!

Sure, you can tell them to make it any size you want. But I''d recommend waiting until the weather is hot before you size it at all.

Ditto. Weather makes a BIG difference for me, and I thought when I got my ring a few months back that it was wayyy to big, but now that the weather is warmer I might just wait to get a wedding band and see how it is. It stays on much better in the warm weather now, so I wouldn''t want to get it sized down and end up with sausage fingers in the summer!

Finger sizes will vary with the weather, with your diet, with the time of day and with the time of the month. Even your activity level at the moment has more than a 1/8 size affect. The jeweler can make it any size you want but deciding what you want to that kind of accuracy is a bit problematic.
