Hi everyone. We're planning on purchasing a seven stone shared prong band fairly soon, and I'm not sure what size to ask for. My wedding band and engagement ring are both around 2 mm wide and sized at 4.5. Sometimes they're a bit loose, and once in a while snug, but overall I think I'm a solid 4.5. I usually wear a 2 mm silver band on top of the set because I like how it looks and for extra security. That one is sized at 4 and can get snug.
Should I ask for the seven stone to be sized at 4.75 or 5 to allow for widening fingers? Or should I stick with 4.5? Would getting a bigger size make the whole set look off?
I'd be using this as my wedding band and my plain band as a spacer. If I go with a larger size will the seven stone just slide over the spacer (which has very little height) and render it useless? I'm a bit hesitant to try on bands at brick and mortar stores, knowing full well that I have zero intention of buying from them. Thanks for any help you can provide.
