There is a chip or crack on one of the top facets I can feel with my nail, is this something I should be worried about? I only have a few days to return so any help would be appreciated!!!

Based on the posted pics, it looks like a chip and a crack -- and it looks like there are other cracks on/under table so repolishing is probably not an option -- if it were me, I'd return.

Thank you for your in put! I wish I could get a clear picture, but it does look like that to me as well

I absolutely agree with @marymm... this guy should go back. While inclusions to a certain degree are acceptable in rubies, anything surface reaching, and especially damage, is a deal breaker. The exception would be if you got a really good deal (read: steal) on the ring and the defect doesn't bother you. But I have anther gripe... this looks like a pink sapphire to me and not a ruby. Did it come with a certification? Does it specify treatments? It is a pretty ring though!

P.S. The ring in your profile pic is stunning!!

Return, you can't fix that without a total recut and you can't guarantee you won't knock it just right to break it in half.

Hi Autumn,
It wasn’t a steal… and it came from an Etsy shop. It was sold as a natural ruby but no cert.. I loved the color of the stone and the tank style of ring. I am new to the colored stone arena-so no idea what I’m looking for

Thank you for the info and for the ring compliment

Oh, good, that's the best outcome. It's always disappointing when this happens, but chin up! You're doing the wise thing and you will find your ruby. It's going to be beautiful.

For me personally, a crack like that which reaches the surface...I'd give it back :(2
