Re: Question about Platinum alloy - Gypsy & others opinions

The sapphires would make killer halo stud earrings if you do remove them!

John, I was just about to say that you need a second band! I think titanium will scratch like crazy, won't it? My son-in-law has tungsten carbide and it looks new after 4.5 years. He got his from Tungsten World.
I found a plain titanium band in my dad's belongings after he passed. I was thinking of having it cleaned up and sized for myself. Tungsten carbide would be a great option too.

MTmama - When you have those sapphires unset do check out how they appear in a temp setting that allows more light to surround them. It may blow you away, or you may prefer the way they look in bezels. Win-win experiment as long as you're considering an unset/remake.

That's a cool idea DS - unfortunately my ears are too stretched to handle something that large, even with the XL backs.

John, obviously that would be very special to have a band that belonged to your Dad. Nothing wrong with having 3, either! We have ladies here with multiple diamond rings!

OK - I'm thinking remade in a "harder" platinum alloy.

What about the sapphires - any ideas how to protect the sapphires? Prongs and bezel - just prongs. - ideas?
