Hello, I just purchased a diamond but I have since determined it receives a 5+ HCA score, as well as a "Very Good" from GIA. Can you please tell me what you think? It cost $4100 (not including the setting).
Round Brilliant
Measurements: 5.69 - 5.75 x 3.60 mm
Carat Weight: 0.72 carat
Color Grade: E
Clarity Grade: VS1
Cut Grade: Very Good
Proportions
Depth: 62.9%
Table: 58%
Crown Angle: 35.0°
Crown Height: 14.5%
Pavilion Angle: 41.8°
Pavilion Depth: 44.5%
Star Length: 55%
Lower Half: 80%
Girdle: Medium to Slightly Thick, Faceted (3.5%)
Culet: None
Finish
Polish: Excellent
Symmetry: Very Good
Fluorescence: None

It has a very deep pavilion angle, deeper than GIA allows for the excellent cut grade. This angle allows light to leave the diamond through the bottom, instead of through the top.

Thanks very much for your response! Does anyone have insight as to whether this was a good value or whether I should go with a better cut and a weaker color? Thanks!

How important is colour to you? If it were me I'd get a much larger stone and drop down a couple colour grades F/G would still be white and I'd get a much larger (and probably much better cut) stone for $4100.
