What you are talking about sounds more like the I3 frozen spit I see occassionally, but these are far beyond I1 clarity.Date: 8/15/2009 9:14:47 AM

Good morning,
I would recommend staying away from all I clairity stones. The inclusions are visible to the unaided eye and the diamond will most likely appear white in color and you will see cracks. When purchasing stones for an engagement ring I recommend VS1 or better. If purchasing for a pendant or studs you can go SI1.
Some of the best values on the market are I1''s that are completely or nearly eye clean from the top. Some I1''s are also some of the worst values on the market as they are so ugly. It is so much more than a clarity grade, it is the cutting, it is the location and nature of the inclusions, it is the degree of mind cleanliness wanted by the buyer, but it is NOT at all what you said.
Many people can not afford to get a well cut high color VS1 or better as you recommend, but are extremely happy with lower color, well cut diamonds well below VS1. Especially when those diamonds come with a good to excellent trade up policy.
I encourage you to go through your diamond boxes and look at diamonds with your eyes, not with the papers in front of you and learn how beautiful the various qualities can be. I hope this does not come accross as harsh, but you will be insulting a LOT of very happy people if you keep intimating that they made bad purchases when in fact they made highly educated choices of the colors, clarities, and cuts that worked to their eye''s and heart''s content.
