I see terms like "antiqued gold", "patinated gold", "blackened gold", etc. It seems like these are used colloquially and don't necessarily reference specific methods of finishing?
This may be a silly question so apologies in advance, but how 'permanent' is the antique finish on new settings that have a vintage look, such as this V-shaped ring or the CvB spring gulch setting for example? The linked thread suggests it could be anything from paint/enamel to black rhodium.
Do these typically fade? Require any extra care?
