i''m very confused regarding the round brilliant. I am interested in a stone that is confusing me. its a hearts and arrows, its AGS 0, but scores only a 4.6 on the HCA. other tests for light return it scored very high or excellent and others low. . i''m very confused
thanks
if anyone can help

Please post the carat weight and proportions from AGS report as well as color, clarity and price.

1.9
E
VS2
table 56.8
depth 61.1
pavillion depth 43.5
crown angle 34.4
pavillion angle 41.4
it has an GIA cert, the other #'s were independantly measured as we all know GIA doesn't give all the info

This is DiamCalc evaluation based on table, crown and pavilion angles. As you can see, 41.4 deg pavilion is already in AGS1 grade.

same but pavilion depth = 43.5%

I know I will regret asking if you answer this, Leonid, but what is this fancy diamond calculator? (I try to stay away from numbers which is why I never tried to figure out the HCA, either.)

.

to play DiamCalc generated files. Even sample files that go with Gem Adviser are interesting to play with.[/u][/u]

i screwed up
the pavillion angle is 41.1 not 41.4
and the HCA was 2.4 (still not as good as I would expect based on the brightscope) and isee2
thanks

This is still Very Good cut. It has decent overall light return. HCA just penalizes partial light leakage.

what should i expect to pay for that stone?

Could be rather high variations depending where you're buying (internet, B&M, mall, etc). Does it have AGS report, ideal symmetry and polish?

I'd guess the price could varry from $14k to $18k.

it has a GIA cert, and has excellent for polish and symmetry
no fluorescence.
i was quoted 20, 400 and I thought it was a bit high. . the stone is beautiful though!
