We''re struggling over picking the best stone for our budget. Saw this one today and would love any feedback if this is a quality stone for the money.....any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Cushion cut
2.11 carat
H
SI2 (somewhat concerns me just from what I''ve read)
7.53 x 7.15 x 4.82 mm
Table - 61%
Depth - 67.4%
Polish - Very good
Symmetry - Good
Fluorescence - None
Comments - Additional clouds are not shown
GIA certified

There are 4 white feather inclusions around the sides of the stone. No inclusions on the table. We had a little trouble finding them when looking head on but could see one or two from the bottom.

Price is $11,700.

Does that seem right??

the shape is off. Did you type that wrong??? 7.53x7.15 maybe that is why the symmetry is just good.

Do you have a link the the stone.

Unfortunately, the numbers don't really mean anything with cushions. They need to be seen. If you saw it and you love it, then go for it.

BUT, I do prefer excellent symmetry and polish and a smaller table (mid-50's) with cushions in general. But as I said, you can't buy a cushion with numbers alone, so that might not mean anything if your stone is gorgeous.

Also, just something to know, but cushions show color more than rounds and you'll see color even more in a bigger stone. So it's good to know whether you're color sensitive or not. If not, the H shouldn't be a problem.

You also should have it appraised to make sure none of the inclusions compromise the integrity of the stone. Some Si2's are great, and some could have inclusions (esp. if on the edges) that could compromise the stone if banged the same way.

What vendor are you working with?

Hope that helps.

so sorry; I didn''t know it was a cushion. forgive me.

I don''t think SI2 is something to be worried as long as it''s eye clean and graded by a reputable lab (AGS or GIA). As far as seeing them from the bottom, if it bothers you then don''t buy it. Realistically, who would look at the bottom of a diamond once it''s set.

I''m no expert but the price seems a little low for 2.11 carats.
