Hi,

I'd pick something simple and classic, rather than a trendy item. Which month will the baby be born? Maybe a pendant w/the birth stone or a simple eternity ring w/the birth stones. If the baby is a girl, I'd want it to be something that could be passed down to her w/out being dated.

I agree with MC. My daughter was born in October, and my husband found a pretty pink tourmaline with a diamond halo on bluenile for around $650. They have them without halos for under $500.

Why don't you do a Pandora bracelet. You can do the bracelet and a charm for her birthday and a charm for the babies birthday. Then a charm from you in gold......they add up quick but this way you can also add as your lives continue and have other occassions.

the baby will be born in july. don't think i could find a nice ruby item for under 500. its a girl so maybe something pink?

A ring to stack with your wedding set would be nice. You can get a pink sapphire band in your budget. This is from blue nile for $600 but they have coupons sometimes. You can also find a pink sapphire band pre-loved on ebay.

I stack a blue sapphire band with my diamond eternity. It was my push present to myself .
