Oops, I did it again! This is a 1.4ct opalescent sapphire. Based on my other AGL cert, I'm guessing this would be labeled as "orangey purple." I can't say this was in the budget right now, but I really couldn't resist. I've seen enough opalescent sapphires by now to know that this is a great example of a very attractive color mixture. At first I was think of trying to source opal melee, but now I am unsure of the direction I'll go. It'll be white gold for sure but ideas are welcome!

I love these stones! I am setting one now, and it is going in a very sparkly white gold engraved halo sourced from eBay. 1787A0B6-B733-4721-AB8C-66E3E0FE05C2.png

That is absolutely gorgeous! I am not sure why but this came to mind when seeing your stone, there are bits of purple in these that might inspire you? I second setting alongside opals!

That looks like Joke Quick's work. Love her designs and old world bench. Same quality as Inken.

Gorgeous! May I ask what these are priced at? I have no clue. I think I might want one now.

My are definitely a range. They weren’t very much, but vivid colors seem to be more than pastels. I have sent all of mine to AGL, and they all came back unheated/untreated. Of course they are cheaper on Instagram, but I’m risk-adverse with international Instagram purchases. My are from Etsy
I’m recovering from surgery and don't want to do the math for a per carat price at the moment, so I’ll tell you what I remember the price was, and you do the division!

Definitely the most, but also my favorite. It’s amazing. Will post pictures when I get it back from being set.

this is 1.6 carats and was $800. I threw it in the box and sent to AGL without checking it closely enough, because it came back as unheated and color-change!

If you get them from one of the IG vendors located in Vietnam, decent examples are $100-$200/ct. Less than $100/ct and there are bound to be annoying inclusions/windows/zoning/cutting issues. Nicer examples are $300+/carat. If you buy from one of the more popular IG accounts, they are buying from the Vietnamese vendors and quadrupling the price.

These unicorn sapphires are addictive.
Your new baby is very very pretty.
with mine I did a wee diamond halo, in hindsight I wish I had been a bit more adventurous and gone with say emeralds or even black sapphires.

I think tanzanite melee will be perfect, especially if you go for the paler purple shades. Tanzanite also flash pink, so I feel like they would go well with these opalescent shades.

Did you end up setting the stone? Are you willing to share the vendor?
