You sapphire is simply gorgeous- so lovely.

I also think you hit a homerun with the setting and I hope this goes better between you and the ring and the jeweler. I would have a hard time not letting my feelings get in the way with this, so, I hope things take a turn for the better in you getting a perfection setting job, and, a nice interaction with your jeweler to finish off.

He should understand that it can be hard to wait for his vacation when you have gem and setting just waiting to be a ring!!!

It is finally done and I am really happy with it now. It was worth the wait. It sits up really high which is new for me but I can handle it! :)

Just a couple more pics. There is a weird reflection in the first pick that makes the metal look open around and below the stone but it isn't.

Thanks lovedogs! Big sigh of relief!
ETA. I realize it is set too high. I still love it and am glad it is safe with me!

Thanks picante! It kind of reminds me of a thistle flower held high up!

My feelings won't get hurt- I promise! Does anyone think it is way too high? It is funny- when I picked it up, a salesperson in the store said, "It is held high up as your requested with rounded prongs." I didn't ask for it to be held high up but it is set and the stone is undamaged (I looked at it with a loupe) so I am happy with good enough.

Beautiful stone - that is such a gorgeous violet purple color, it is very "you"! It does look it's set a bit high - are you finding that it is banging or are the prongs catching on things when you wear the ring? Otherwise the setting looks to be quite nice for a stock setting!!

Thanks Mochiko! It is not getting banged or caught. It just looks high from the side to me. I learned that I like handmade settings better! I have been trying to rub off the rhodium plating with my Miracle cloth and it seems to be working. I love that I can finally wear the stone and have it near me!
