Hi All,

I can''t believe I''ve only just found this amazing diamond resource, a week after going through with the purchase and recieving a stone!

I''ve did a good deal of research online and spoke to 3 different brokers in Sydney before decided on the following 1.5ct Oval:

GIA Cert

Colour: G
Clarity: VS1
Polish: VG
Symmetry: VG
Fluorescence: None
Depth: 63.7%
Table: 60%

I''m confident I got a pretty decent price on it, and having seen it first hand I''m really happy with my purchase. The stone is now with a jeweller in Sydney being made into an antique design I found online (pic attached).

The reason for posting is just to find out what my next steps should be really. Should I get the stone/ring appraised by an independent jewller upon completion? I don''t want to appear to be untrusting of the broker or the jewller with a request for independent verification and valuation, is this something most buyers should do?

Obviously the stone has now been passed between a number of people so a little bit of paranoia is creeping in, so I''d like to make sure what I''ve got in the ring is what''s on the GIA cert.

Any help would be appreciated!

Bump! Can anyone help please?

An independent appraiser is also there to make sure the stone is what you bought, the setting is nicely crafted and the setting of the stone is well done and secure.
