re: travel systems...i am totally not into them but some people love them. the strollers to me are just like the SNG basically, and it just wasn''t a ''ride'' i was into. plus our neighborhood has slightly bumpy sidewalks so we needed more cushioning and suspension.
This is why we got the Citymini by babyjogger. Love it.

this was my #1 pick until i realized i wanted real tires. but it''s a great option and love the fact that it''s 17lbs and $220!

speaking of real tires, i got my first flat today...it was super fun pushing the 20lb stroller, 13lb kid and two huge bags of groceries back home to the tune of a mile long walk... HAHAA but at least i got a good workout in.

haha! We have a BOB too for the walks to the grocery store etc. We use the baby jogger as our car stroller!

My daughter was in her infant carrier until she was 1. I stopped taking it out a few months before when she got heavy though. I don't think it is a waste b/c it makes it so much easier! Sleeping babies STAY sleeping. That is priceless.

ETA: as DD quoted I am not a fan of the chicco stroller BUT I have a ton of friends who love them. Maybe if I never pushed a good one I wouldn't have known the difference. Ignorance truly is bliss. Loved the car seat though. At the time it was rated the safest as well.
