Just popping in to wish Amelia a happy second birthday.

Hope you (and your mamma) have a fantastic day. Can''t quite believe it''s been two years, though!

She was such a darling newborn. I was still pregnant when I saw this pic and it was the first time I got really excited about seeing my own baby, because it just melted my heart. Still makes me a little teary.

just looked up the picture....awwwwwwww....what a great find Mrs M!

Tgal--you are a better person than I. Don''t know if i could deal with the inlaws (however nice they may be) for 3 weeks. That''s a lot. Hang in there. Amelia probably senses the liberation that comes with grandparents in the house (i think they instinctively know where the spoiling and oodles of attention will come from & live it up

)

Happy 2nd birthday beautiful Amelia!!!

Tacori--that wedding sounds amazing. I can''t believe they served brekkie!

Hope everyone has a great easter weekend. My sister is coming home, i am off for 4 days and it''s forcasted to be 20 degrees here so i am SOOO looking fwd to the weekend :)

Just a quick drive by to say:

Happy Birthday, Amelia!!!!

Two years just FLEW by, crazy!!! Can''t wait to hear about the party.

Welcome back, Tacori!!! Sounds like you had a great time! Lily always ignores me when I get back from a trip and then after she gets over being mad, she is super cuddly too. I think they go through a lot of emotions but deep down, they are happy that we didn''t leave them forever!

HAPPY 2ND BIRTHDAY AMELIA!!!!

TGal, I can''t believe she''s 2!!! I have really enjoyed watching her grow up! You''re such a great mommy!

Welcome back Tacori!

Thanks everyone. It''s good to be back even if it is only for 5 days.

TGal, hope you post pics of her party. Sounds like it will be amazing.

Happy Birthday A!
Welcome back, Tacori!

Off to enjoy my two April Fools...(they are being very silly today)

Thanks Tgal, Happy birthday to Amelia!

Welcome back Tacori!

Jas12--
haha...it''s not too bad...especially when i''m so used to getting up in the night.
i can''t remember the last time that i actually slept the whole night through.

oh wow....10.5 lb out in 13 minutes (and this is essentially like her first since the first one was so small).
i''m always in awe myself when i hear of people VB any baby over 8 lbs since i know how big an 8lber vs a 6 lber.

and so so happy for your cousin!
lots of sticky dust to her.

that''s interesting about the gap in the teeth.
j doesn''t have them. all 8 of her front teeth are so tightly squished together now.

Bobo--
hehe, i thought you''d much prefer the winter (cooler months) now that you are preggo :)

Tacori--
welcome back!
we''ve missed you.
lol...too funny that T was a little aloof when you went to pick her up.

TGal--
Ahh...happy 2nd birthday to sweet and beautiful Amelia.
Can't believe how fast the years are going by.
That newborn picture of her just brings back so many memories....especially the night you went in labor.
I wasn't able to post then but was following it w/ the rest of the mommies.

I know you have to be the one to handle your DSLR, but I'm sure your mom and ILs will have their own cameras ;)
Surely you'd want one picture of you and A on her bday!

Hehe...I'm am to talk. I hate pictures myself...so would avoid it at all cost.
We had J's early bday this past weekend, and I didn't even take out my dingy digital camera.
Had to rely on my sisters for the pictures.
We didn't do much, just spend a few hours at miniature golf w/ my family
and then came back home for lunch (which we catered from Thai and ShiShenGumi) and cake.
We didn't even get her any gifts :P, just 3 of those metallic balloons (which J requested).
Fortunately Linda is not on this thread much, else I'd be seeing her bat :P

i have so much to catch on and promise to over the weekend but super quick I had to pop in and wish Amelia a happy 2nd B-day!!!!

Thanks ladies...we just got back from a little bday lunch with all her grandparents. She''s down for a nap and I''m pooped!

Had her 2 year appointment today. The stats are:

Height 37", 95%ile (off the charts, as usual)
Weight 27.5 lbs (but she was fully clothed in a shirt and jeans) 50-60%ile

All is good and she is healthy. I have noticed that one of her eyes seems to drift so I got a referral to a pediatric opthalmologist.

Tacori, welcome back and lili, love the new av of J!

Gotta run back to socialize with the fam....

I missed you ladies too! I am trying to load a new video of T on FB but I think it is too large to work. Oh well.

Funny, T has little gaps between her teeth too. I mentioned it to my dentist and she said that was a good sign. I only had braces on my top six teeth for six months so here''s hoping (pathetically) that she might need braces or at least minimally.

Jas12, I guess Colombian weddings go til dawn so that is NORMAL for them. Haha. Kinda like programs are at US weddings (which they did not do).

TGal, three weeks IS a long time. You are a saint.

Curly, she didn''t act angry more indifferent
20.gif
I know she is excited I am home though.

lili: love the new photo!

tgal: wow, great stats! And according to the non-scientific guideline of doubling height at aged 2---she will be over 6ft! Supermodel status along with Burk's T! hehehe, I know it's not realiable, just fun and you've got one healthy little girl. I've never noticed the eye in any videos/photos, but doesn't hurt to see an opthamologist. C saw one for the slight line in her iris a year ago...and squeezed her eyes shut the whole time, but somhow he managed to diagnos that she was fine!

Jas 12 - I''m sure everything''s going fine in there, just keep cooking that baby! And 10.5 pounds in 13 minutes
23.gif
. Although my sister was 10 pounds 14 ounces, and my mom claims is wasn''t her worst labor (unmedicated too).

Tgal - Happy Birthday Amelia! And good lukc with the in-laws, I can hardly stand 4 days with nice inlaws, so I can''t imagine 3 weeks!

Welcome back Tacori, the wedding soudns like fun. And i''m sure T missed you.

Have a happy Easter everyone! We''re off to Palm Springs tonight to see the extended family. My mom is having brunch on Saturday for like 40 people, but it should be fun... I hope...

TGal--
Wow...I think A got a good 4 inches over J.
Maybe I''ll measure her later tonight and see
since her 2 yr appt isn''t until the 23rd (and the dr''s measurement are always so screwy).

Janine--
I think the doubling is 18 months for girls and 2 years for boys, at least that''s what I''ve heard.
Either case, Amelia and Tayva are going to be supermodel tall.

Tacori--
Did you get any good pictures of the wedding?
I''d be interested to see what it''s like over there.

TGal, A is supermodel tall. Lucky girl.

Lili, just posted pictures.

Happy birthday TGal... you did all the work so I hope you get some cake or something

tacori Any word from grad school??

Happy birthday, Amelia! And TGal - thanks for posting that dental article. I just started a new job this week and was trying to figure out if it made sense to pay for dental insurance for G and all six of his teeth, but decided to go ahead and spring for it after looking at that.

Working moms of nursing toddlers - would you mind describing how you handled pumping at around a year and onwards, and how it worked out for you? I''m trying to figure out what to do. Ideally I''d like to just pump during lunch and not bother with more frequent pumping, and then nurse when I''m home, and intellectually I know that milk supply can adjust to what you ask it to do, but I''m wondering if the long stretches without pumping/nursing are really sustainable or are going to cause my supply to tank or something. Thoughts? Experience?

G has his first birthday party on Saturday. I can''t it''s almost been a year.

Blen Hunter went to daycare at 10 months. At that time he nursed 4 times per day -- 7am, 12pm, 4pm and 7pm. I went and saw him at noon for 2 months and nursed him and in that time my supply kept up great. But I did notice that he was not very interested in nursing at the noon feeding most days. Then at 12 months we introduced milk and I stopped visiting at noon. Guess what happened? He weaned himself. I never thought that would happen. He was just not at all interested in nursing and stopped except for the am. He was not getting much and so we basically just let is slip! I had wanted to nurse until 18mo, but oh well. Anyways, that doesn''t answer your question, but with a baby that age I suspect they do not acutally take much milk and your supply can really change with changes in routine. The same thing that happened to me also happened to a large number of my friends.

Oh really? Because C''s 18 mo appointment is today..so I''ll have to see. I hope she breaks 5 ft!

DD, I updated my thread but guess in all the excitement I forgot to mention it here. I found out right before my trip that I got in!!!

I am very excited and a bit nervous. I start in May.

tacori CONGRATS!!!

Janine--
But you know how it is w/ those rules...there''s always an exception and the give and take 2 inches.
I don''t think you have anything to worry about C being a shorty since you and hubby are both tall.
Now, J is another story because there is a chance that she takes after mommy''s 5'' frame :P

Tacori--
Those pictures from Colombia are great!
And that video of T w/ her head gears is too cute.

Good luck w/ school.
It''s funny how your program starts in May.
I''ve always thought that it would be in Aug or Sept.
Or is schedule only for undergrad?

lili i LOVE that new pic of J...such a pretty girl!

hope everyone has a wonderful easter sunday!

we''re off to vegas on monday. kinda freaking out about taking 2 kids there but super excited to go shopping. oh and it is seriously tough to have 2 mobile kids!!! N is rolling like there is no tomorrow and B and i both try to keep him outta trouble. i am exhausted! and he''s a fast roller too...there''s no stopping this kid. good news about chasing 2 kids around, i just lost another pant size...my size 27 are big!!! YAY! not yay for DH since i''m going to get new clothes now. haha.

puffy--
thanks...that was her giving me her "cheesy smile" for the camera.
