PS Mommy thread with toddlers 12-36 months

lili, we''re settled in but there are still few boxes that are piled up in the study.

puffy, glad you guys had a blast, we want to take little B there when he is a little older. Was the halloween theme in Disneyland cute version or scary version?

Tacori, good luck on the flight, you might just sit next to someone that is very nice. Hope you get that seed out soon, I had fruit seed stuck in my gum before and it''s painful.

Janie, sorry to hear about the sleepless night...

Burk, sorry to hear about PT training, little B is no where close to PT either.

TGal, little B will be Woody in Toy Story this year. Was wondering if it''s too early to post costume pic. in FB...

Bobo--
It certainly is not too early to post halloween pix

question for you mommies...Tessa was invited to a halloween playdate (including a bounce house) but the mom just e-mailed us to tell us that her son has hand, foot and mouth disease. She is still having the party but wanted to let us make an informed decision. So what would you do? Would you risk it or skip it?

How long has the boy been sick? I just read that infected persons are most contagious during the first week of the illness. Even if he's past the one week I would skip it. Not worth the risk.

puffy, welcome back! Sounds like you had a great trip! Can't believe B is so well behaved! That's awesome!

Thanks ladies for the congrats. DH will be SOOO happy when he finds out it’s a boy. It’s been fun messing with him. Right now he is convinced that we are having another girl b/c he is preparing for another girl. He says that way he won’t be disappointed.

Diva
Good luck. Hope the move goes smoothly for you. You must be excited.
Can’t wait to see the pumpkin patch pics.

Tacori
I am sure someone will switch seat with you, so you and Tessa can sit together.
How’s the party prepping going? Can’t wait to see pics.
Popcorn in your gum… yikes… sounds really uncomfortable. Can you get it out? Or will you need a dental visit?
T is just too busy to be down for diaper change. It’s funny that she lies to you guys. Wet and stinky diapers don’t bother M at all. She had never acknowledged it, not even a cry.

Puffy
B is really well behaved, so I am not surprised that he did well on the flight. I guess most people see a toddler and think the worst. I was never that way even when the baby/toddler cries. The only time it bothers me is during a movie.
Sounds like B had a blast ToTing with Mickey and his friends. My fave is Buzz and Sulley, just love them.

Janine
Yeah the height measurements are so not accurate. M was 30.5in at her 12 months, and then M was 30in at her 13 months weight check. The dr. said “oh she can’t get shorter” and measure her again. It was still short of 30.5in, but he just put down 30.5in.
Is C sleeping better again? We get those sleepless nights once in a while, and most of the time I don’t know the cause.

Burk
I am scared of PT. LOL. M will be in diaper forever.
Enjoy your break.

Tgal
You should’ve just made your own tutu. I made the one for M’s bday pics, and it costed like $15 for supplies and was very easy to make (no sewing necessary).
The flower fairy costume is adorable. Witch and black cat can be cute. Anything would be cute on Amelia.

lili
Magazine on the potty. Classic.

M is going to be Tinkerbell (posted that like a dozen times already
25.gif
). I haven''t actually tried it on her yet. Maybe I''ll do that tonight, along with the dress we got her for a wedding we are attending next month.

So yesterday was M''s first basketball game. It went pretty well. She did get antsy during the game, but we just gave her snacks and traded her back and forth between us. She was also playing with the couples next to us and the guys behind us, so that helped. She loved it when she was walking around before the game and during half-time. She kept waving at people. Overall, we had a good time.

She said in the e-mail last week. She also said unless T kissed or shared a sippy cup with him she would be fine. I''ll ask my dad but wanted all my the mommies I trusted input
2.gif
I could always take her to Monkey Joe''s or somewhere to get her bounce house fix. Of course who knows what kinda illnesses those kids might have

Q, I am sure someone would switch too b/c let''s face it, she is TWO. Haha. It would be different if she was 10 or something but middle seat vs. sitting next to a toddler seems like a no brainer. Still annoying that the airline seated us like that. I mean I know I didn''t make them far in advance but I bought them at least 2 months before we were leaving. That seems long enough to get at least 2 seats together. The party will come together. No major planning. I have all of the favors but do have to figure out something to give the big kids. I bought a "kid safe" lion pinata where they pull strings so I am hoping that will work. I think the seed might have come out thankfully b/c my gum is not as sore as before so that''s good. Glad the basketball game went well. It does help when people around you like kids.

real quick....

tacori i''m not sure it would be worth the risk for me. and i think it takes less than a kiss and sharing a cup to get it as my friend''s child had it and got it from sharing the same toy. and it sucks to have it, so i would keep T away until the boy is 100% ok.

be back in a bit to catch up.

Hi ladies!!

i have been MIA for a looooooooooong time, but have read this thread (and others too!) almost on a daily basis, but life has been too hectic and i dont have much time to post..but i have followed all ur stories and cheered with u and was sad with u and happy with u and oh so loved all the wonderful pics!!!

msb
Oh wow!!! I knew what it was even before getting to it just from the excitement in your post.
Many congrats!

qt: you haven''t told DH yet?? Wow you''re good! He''ll be over the moon. Crazy how inaccurate the height measurments are! I guess it''s give or take an inch, but that''s alot with little ones! C''s sleeping is still not so great. Not as bad as that one night (when she basically did not sleep) but still alot of tossing and turning and grumbling from 2-3 and 4-5. I hope this doesn''t last forever! I''m pretty used to it now though

tacori: I would def skip it. Not worth the risk and that''s not like having a cold. That''s good that she was honest about it though.

diva: you''re moving? did i miss something? great news!

msb: oh my goodness, congrats!!! This is fast becoming a Mommies w/toddlers 12-36months & preggo thread!

Just quickly skimming the thread and saw the news - congrats MSB!!!
36.gif
Did you tell your husband last night?

TGal, I love Amelia''s costume, that''s so adorable! K''s costume isn''t overly girly (she''s a lion), and I kinda wish I had gone with something like yours, but oh well. I wanted G and K to coordinate somewhat, and I''m not sure what he would''ve been if she was a flower fairy!

msb, congratulations! That''s wonderful news! Were you TTC? Does your DH have an inkling? Did you tell him yet? Let us know how it went!

It''s very exciting to see so many of the toddler mommies are expecting #2!

I''d skip it. That is such an easy one to pass along, and even though they say adults don''t get it, I have known moms that have. Sores in their mouths and everything

Congrats MSB!

Congrats Msb700!!!
I think your plan is a cute way to tell DH. My DH was always around when I took the tests.

LOL, so true! There is a serious wave of round 2 going on here. Puffy, Burk, QT, Jas12, msb...gadzooks, who isn''t preggo with a toddler?

Tacori, I ditto the ones who said skip it.

Ella, I chuckled at the thought of what G might be if K was a flower. Maybe a vase?

me...definitely NOT preggo.... a huge congrats to msb...that''s wonderful news..

tacori-add me to the mom''s that said to skip the party. I know hand foot and mouth isn''t a huge deal but one I wouldn''t want to risk exposing my kids to.

thank u so much ladies

im very happy!

Well i was busy baking when DH walked in from the airport..so he comes in and starts to talk about his trip and how it was etc etc and honestly i didn't hear a WORD of what he said..all i was thinking..should i interrupt him? should i pretend im interested in what he's saying? wat do i do?? then i hear him say something along the lines off "we took some pics, here let me show u" and i go AHA! perfect moment..hes fiddling away in his fone and i go, hey i got a cute pic that i took and want u to see too, so we swap fones :)

he looks at mine and IMMEDIATELY looks up at me and goes WHAT!? i go "yes" hes like WHAT!!! i go " yes yes, its true"..he goes SERIOUSLY!?? i go "yes..serious...i have another test using a different brand that i took a pic off if u want to see :) "...he was SO happy and his eyes got all teary and he gave me the sweetest hug and said no other news would have been more perfect to hear on his first day back home :D..

Snlee: we were TTC but werent taking it TOO seriously :) i was just thinking bout if i should start charting and all that this month!

Tacori: i second what everyone has said..id skip it..i honestly would feel HORRIBLE if K got sick coz i took him to aparty where i knew he mite be at risk..

its good to be back on this forum and participating instead of just reading..ive missed u ladies! i promise to try my hardest to keep up with everyone!

Tacori--
Add me to the decline camp.
I read that they may still be contagious even after their symptoms are gone.
The sores sound painful....just not worth taking the risk.

QT--
Haha.....that''s precisely why I opted to find out w/ J.
DH was pretty adamant about finding out since he wanted to be prepared (in case it was a boy)
and I wanted to be surprised. Originally, I was going to let him find out and me surprised;
but knowing him, I knew he''d play w/ my mind.

It is pretty funny seeing her w/ the magazine while on the toilet.
She actually would choose between one of three -- her baby magazine, mommy''s magazine, or daddy''s muscle magazine.
I got a shot of her on the can w/ it.

TGal--
Haha....a vase for G w/ msK has a flower would be perfect.

Msb--
Congrats again.
Didn''t have time to give suggestions last night, but sounds like you delivered the good news perfectly.

lili OMG....that is so cute that J sits on the potty and "reads" a magazine!! tell me about it, i can''t believe they had to ask us to get off. they said that has NEVER happened before. it''s so cute when they start to really talk. i''m sure you''re having a blast with her being so much more verbal.

bobo disneyland was super cute for the kids for halloween. and the fireworks were crazy awesome!! i''m sure little B will have a wonderful time when he goes. we''re trying to take the kids at least once a year. so next year, we would like to do Disneyland and then TRY to do Disney world during the holidays, but with 2 toddlers by then, who knows what will happen! how is little B doing?

snlee how is D doing? it''s pretty nice that B is pretty good most of the time. he outgrew the "terrible 2''s" pretty quick, at least i hope he''s done with them.

qt that''s great that M did well at the basketball game. and glad you guys had a great time. did you dress her up in a lakers jersey? how are you feeling? hope everything with you, baby, and M are going well.

msb congrats again!! that''s so wonderful that your DH was so happy and excited!!

tacori hope the party planning is coming along!! i''m sure it''ll be super cute.

31.5 weeks and starting to feel tired ALL the time again. and the little pains of pregnancy are starting to get to me. i''m up 12 lbs.
other than that, not much going on with us...B''s just being B, happy as ever and loving as ever. he tells me every day that he can''t wait to meet his little brother, which is so cute. he rubs and kisses my belly all the time. he''s really looking forward to trick or treating on saturday, even though he knows he is not eating the candy.

Tacori, I will skip the party. I wouldn''t risk it...

QT, can''t wait to see M in her tinkerbell costume. She will be one cute tinkerbell.

msb700, Big congrats!!!!

Ella, TGal''s flower and vase idea is pretty good...

puffy, the tickets are sold out this year for Disneyland, we''ll do it next year. I can''t wait to go to Disney World with little B, was planning to go with DH but little B happen so...Can''t believe you are 31.5 weeks already, it seems like yesterday you announce you are preggo. B will be a wonderful brother. Little B is running a fever right now, waiting to see if we should take him to the doctor tomorrow morning.

MSB--yay! Congrats on the pregnancy

hmmmm, who''s next?
31.gif
It''s in the air...

Puffy--
haha, so did B get to go into the cockpit or talk to the pilot?
yeah, it is pretty fun. she's making more sentences now w/ subject, verb(mostly action) and object :)
you look fabulous and so tiny by the way.
can't believe you have less than 9 weeks left.
and can't believe you gained only 12 lbs.
i think i gained that much by the end of my first trimester!
so have B complained about not being to see his brother sooner? :)

Bobo--
Hope B is ok.

Jas12--
I see you joined the preggo thread again.
So have you let family and friends in on the secret yet?

So we officially gave up on potty training for now. Too much fun stuff going on since I was on break and I really didn''t want to give up and she was not on board anyway, so we''ll just wait. She knows exactly what she''s doing so it''s a bit frustrating, but she''s got to be ready. We have a volleyball tournament tomorrow morning but I''ll be home by afternoon and then we''re off to family and friends to show off our little butterfly. She tried on the costume tonight and it was hilarious....apparently she thinks that butterflies only RUN. She she ran around in circles flapping the wings and giggling. Too funny.

lili~That''s too funny that J is all about eating out. Smart girl!
9.gif

puffy~T is obsessed with pumpkins so she loved that there were pumpkins every time she turned around. There was no pie at our pumpkin patch, but there was some amazing kettle corn and I also purchased some super yummy homemade apple butter!!
18.gif

bobo~Thanks for the sympathy. I think the frustrating part is that she has sooo many signs of being ready (dry for long stretches, tells me when she needs her diaper changed, ect) but I guess it''s just not time yet. Oh well.

QT~PT is not fun. I was sooo hoping I wouldn''t have 2 in diapers at the same time, but I guess I''ll live if we''re not there yet by the time the little guy arrives!

Tacori~What did you end up doing about the party?

msb~CONGRATS!!!!
36.gif
36.gif
So happy for you!!

puffy: 31 weeks? wow, that went fast! Hope you''re handling the tiredness ok, it must be hard juggling that and a toddler!

Burk: sorry about PT, I''m not looking forward to that stage! Well, it''ll work out eventually, she can''t go to college in a diaper!

bobo: how''s little B doing?

Tgal: can''t wait to see the flower fairly costume in action!

Tacori: what did you end up deciding?

As for us, good news is C took a few steps! So cute. Not so good news is she''s had a runny nose and a slight fever tonight. I gave her tylenol, but she''s grumbling in her sleep alot. What else can I do/give her if this turns out to be a full blown cold?

janine YAY for C and her few steps. those few steps are going to be leading to full out walking very soon!! is she feeling better at all?

burk sorry about the PTing. it sounds like she is or will be ready soon, so you never know, you might not have to deal with 2 in diapers. T sounds adorable as a butterfly!! hope you guys have a wonderful time!!

lili yup, B got to go into the cockpit again. and he loved it. the pilot was explaining to him what things were and he actually remembered a lot of it. he''s been asking me lately when he can go on a plane again. crazy kid!! he''s been counting down the days on is calendar until his baby brother''s arrival. he can only count to about 40ish correctly, so after that, he starts from 1 again, and asks me to add the two numbers together. that''s so awesome that J is making sentences!! you must be such a proud mommy.

bobo how is little B? i hope he is feeling better.

happy halloween to all the mommies and kids!! B''s going to be elmo. he picked out his own costumes. for disneyland, he was mickey mouse so for tonight he''s going to be elmo.
hope everyone has a wonderful and safe halloween!!

Puffy: Sorry to hear ur not feeling too great..i can''t believe ur 31.5 weeks already!! i can''t believe how quick time has flown by..too cute how B is looking forward to meeting his brother!

Burk: so cute! can''t wait to see T in her halloween outfit..thank you :D im very happy too!! im still feeling like its all surreal..

Janine: yay on C taking a few steps! thats so cute...sorry to hear though shes a bit under the weather
7.gif
hope shes up and running around in no time..

msb, CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!
36.gif
36.gif
I am soooooo happy for you! Hope you''re feeling great. Looking forward to going on your pregnancy journey with you!

I''m excited for all of our preggos. Sadly, I will NOT be joining you but I was way ahead of the game!
2.gif
We are definitely done at 2.

I''ll post Halloween pics on FB. Lily was a princess, of course. Lucy was the same lion that Lily was last year but she was a better sport about it! Hope everyone had a great weekend. I was traveling all last week so haven''t had much time to catch up but I will try this week!

msb700
Aww that''s a great reveal. Your DH is so sweet.

lili
That''s so cute. You have to post a pic of J on the potty with a magazine.
Haha. I guess I am like your DH then. Well if DH knew and I didn''t, he would mess with my head too. So it''s fair. It had made it a lot easier to keep the secret from him. hehe.

puffy
We''ll have to check out Disneyland for halloween next year. Sounds fun. SIL and BIL took their two sons, but they didn''t dress up.
We got M a jersey at the stadium; it''s the smallest they had, and it was like a dress on her.
I am doing well. This pregnancy is more uncomfortable with more cervix pressure. I usually have to sit down for a little bit with the pressure gets uncomfortable after walking for a while. Make me feel like an old lady. hehe.
How are you feeling?
Any chances of seeing B in his costumes?

Bobo
We ended dressing up M just for her to walking around inside the house since she had a fever.

Burk
I was 100% sure that we were going to have 2 in diapers. At least, T is showing signs of readiness. M doesn''t even care when the diaper is wet or dirty.
How cute that T is running around the house in her costume.

janine
Yay for C taking steps.
How''s C feeling? Hope she feels better soon.

Curly
Can''t wait to see pics of Lily and Lucy in costumes on FB.

So M''s fever went up to 105.4 last night. We went to the ER again. We were there for 7 hours this time. Took 6.5 hours to get a room. The blood work all came back normal, but there was a small spot on the chest x-ray that the dr. thinks is pneumonia. So she prescribed antibiotics. We''ve given tylenol and the fever is at base. Hope the pneumonia doesn''t get worse.
