PS Mommy thread with toddlers 12-36 months

QT, happy anniversary! If your DH really wants to know then I say go for it! What a great anniv present! I love the cake idea! Glad Meena is feeling better.

janine, we just use regular hand soap. My mom uses some special baby soap. I think she just had that around the house...not really sure why!

Kay, good to see you here! Happy belated 1st birthday to A! I hope you come find us on FB. Lots of pictures. I'd love to see A too!

Kay and janine, if it makes you feel better, D is up a few times a night sometimes too. Sometimes we find him sitting up screaming his head off. Once we put him back down and put a paci in his mouth he usually goes back to sleep easily. I know we should start weaning the paci soon but I AM SO NOT LOOKING FORWARD TO THAT! He seems very dependent on his paci for sleeping. Blah!

msb, hope your appointment went well! Have a great trip!

Diva, congrats on the new house and move! So happy for you!

Tacori, good luck with the GRE!

jas12, sorry about the M/S. Hope it passes soon!

Burk, that''s great T loves daycare. Sure makes it easier leaving her.

puffy, D had a pretty good halloween, except he was so tired and cranky around 6. He only took a 1.5 hr nap in the morning and wouldn''t nap in the afternoon. That''s been happening pretty frequently. Next year when he''s a little older I''m sure he''ll enjoy it more. Can''t wait to see the pics!

mrss~Thanks for the reassurance with the PT! I''ll live if I have two in diapers! It has to be on her time...hopefully that time will be sooner rather than later but who knows.
16.gif

janine~I just use our plain old hand soap (liquid, anti-bacterial) to wash her hands.

Kay~Good to have you around!! Can''t believe your LO is 1!!! Thanks for the congrats on baby Kade...we''re very excited (as is T). Hope to see you around more!

lili~T''s the opposite of J-she''s ready to play with her friends when we get there, but when I get there to pick her up she''s ready to come home with mommy!
5.gif
She is the youngest in her class. They move them out of her class and into the next one around 2.5 or 3 depending on the kid and there are quite a few that are close to 3 still in her class. She LOVES her friends and ironically is the most social and talkative of all of them, as the youngest!
41.gif

Puffy~T is doing great...a little messed up with daylight savings time (wants to go to bed earlier...I think because it''s dark and she just thinks dark=bed time). She does love daycare, I think it''s just because she gets to socialize and play with her friends. She talks about her friends the entire way there, lists them all and what they do, ect. But, when I get there to pick her up she''s always ready to come with me so my feelings don''t get too hurt!
16.gif

QT~Glad Miss Meena is feeling better!! I think if your Dh says he wants to know, then I would def. tell him for your anni. He''ll be so happy to get his boy!

Snlee~We''re just starting to talk about getting rid of T''s binky too and I am so nervous! She only gets it for sleep but she is pretty dependent on it so it may be hard. I would like to get rid of it before the new baby gets here but I figure if all she uses it for is sleep, there are worse things! T''s love for daycare is great because I truly feel like it''s good for her to be there and socialize with her friends and I don''t feel guilty one bit for working (even though I only work 4 hours a day).

Regarding pacis/binkies: for those who say they''re using them for sleep time only, does that mean the paci stays in all night or just till the baby falls asleep?

Paci stays in there all night. I put two in there in hopes of him finding it easily and sometimes he likes to drop them on the floor.

haha, i love that you put 2 in there. C figured out that if she drops her paci, I have to come back in, so 2 is a good idea. This makes me feel better b/c I thought paci all night was a bad thing or something only I was doing.

T has 3 binkies in her crib. She uses it to fall asleep but it falls out once she''s actually asleep. She doesn''t sleep very sound so when she wakes she will find a binky and put it in to help fall asleep. She typically falls asleep with one binky in and one in each hand!

puffy--
B is so caring and tender.
can''t wait to see pictures of him w/ his little brother.
wow, not too much longer for you.
even though it is 2 months, but w/ the holidays at the end of the year....it is going to come up so soon.
are you hoping that the baby will come before or after christmas?

QT--
haha...sounds like your hubby wants to know.
i said go for it on your anni.
Happy 4th anniversary!
Sushi for the occasion?
2.gif

Jas12--
that''s such a cute idea about revealing the sex w/ the cake.
so are you guys going to find out this time around?
haha.....it does seem this pregnancy is different from the first one huh?
does C want a girl this time?

msb--
Hope your appt went well.
Enjoy your trip!

Burk--
I guess that''s how most daycare are run.
J''s more like a classroom. She basically go to the next class w/ the rest of the class at the beginning of the school year.
The age difference in her class is about 6 months.

Janine--
Can''t chime in about the binkies since J never took to them.
We tried at the beginning when we were desperate for her to STTN or nap, but she just pushed it w/ her tongue.

Jas12
Those cakes look so pretty, but I didn''t have time to bake one. hehe. DH came to take me out for lunch since we had chiropractor appointment tonight. I might try to get him to go out for desserts or something after M falls asleep and MIL can watch her for a couple hours.

Janine
I just wash M''s hands with regular hand soap.
M still uses her paci to sleep. It usually falls out once she is asleep. If she wakes up in the middle of the night, I used to go in and pop it back in her mouth right away, and she''ll fall back asleep. Now I just let her find it herself (not sure if she actually finds it or not, but I just let her be if she wakes up and don''t go in her room). I am wondering when I am supposed to stop giving her paci; I couldn''t find any set recommendations online. I''ll ask her pedi at the 18 months.

snlee
I don''t scare to take the paci away too. When are we supposed to wean from paci?
How''s D doing?

Burk
I am wondering if I should get rid of the paci before the baby. I am not sure since it might be comforting for M when our attention get shared between two kids. Like it might be too many transitions at once. I don''t know.
It''s great that T like to socialize with her friends. It''s so cute when they tell story of what happened at daycare/school. Nephew loves telling me what he and his friends did at school. They are so excited.

lili
One less thing to worry about - weaning from the paci.
We did have sushi. hehe. DH took me out to lunch. And I ate all the raw stuffs. Yum.

So I told DH the sex of the baby. I went to Target and bought an onesie that says "Big Show Off I am learning from my daddy" and a sleeper that says "100% boy". I put them in a gift bag, and gave it to him and said hope you like it. He thought I got him underwears (since it feels like clothes, but was so small). He asked "are you sure" when he opened it and saw what it was. I nodded, and he was just smiling. It was great. So now we are keeping it from the family, and he has to share the torture of keeping a secret. haha. I am so evil.

Here''s the onesie and sleeper. I think I might return the sleeper though since we think it''s weird to put "100% boy" sleeper on the baby. We''ll see.

DH_anni_gift.JPG

QT--great idea! I bet he was just so excited & ya, it''s better to have someone else to share in the torture!

Lili--charlie wants a girl this time around, however he is the type that if we had another boy, he''d be over it the minute the gender was revealed. He just really wants lots of kids so he would never dwell. The more this pregnancy progresses the more i feel like i might only want two (i think it is the MS talking making me say ''never again'') so if that is the case, i have a much stronger girl preference too.

Janine--i think co''s paci falls out during the night after he falls asleep. We put 2 in his crib and now he has a *weird* comfort thing. He has to have one in his hand--to cuddle and one for his mouth (sometimes he doesn''t even put the second in his mouth--he just holds onto it too until he falls asleeo) . Wacky. Some kids have a blanket, mine cuddles the paci. We tried to get rid of the night-only paci, but regressed when he was teething and i haven''t had the patience to try again

qt what a cute gift for your DH. i''m sure he is over the moon!! is M all better? my DH was never into disneyland AT ALL. he would go with me but i could tell he wasn''t as into as i was. then the first time we took B, he had such a great time just because B had a great time. and this time when we went, he had an even better time cause B was so much older and knew so much more. and he loved bringing B around to take pictures. so who knows, maybe your DH will come to love Disneyland as well and enjoy it much more with the kids. you are super cute and tiny by the way!!

snlee that''s great that D enjoyed halloween. he must have known something was going on and was too excited about it to nap. have you tried pushing back his morning nap slowly so that he just has 1 afternoon nap? i think B started taking only 1 nap when he was a little more than 1.

burk haha, B is totally all messed up too with the daylight savings. he wants to get in the bath around 6 and i tell him he hasn''t even had dinner yet. haha!! it''s cute that she talks about all her friends!! how is the house coming along?

lili i already told DH that we have to get all our holidays stuff done early this year cause who knows when this baby is going to make his appearance. i can''t believe i''m almost 33 weeks!! time just flew by this time around. if it''s like this all the time, i don''t mind having 1 or 2 more kids. and with DH spoiling the crap out of me lately, i can get really used to this! B is super caring, which is so weird to me. he is so not the typical boy, but no complaints at all. we were playing in his room the other day and i lied down for a second, he went to get his blanket to put on me then told me to move my head so he can out his pillow under my head too. it''s was so funny.

jas12 are you going to find out the sex of this baby? i''m sorry the m/s is still bad.

have a great weekend!!

lili~T''s is also in a classroom and there are 3 classrooms above her. When they moved her "up" she moved with 2 others (both older than her). They have since decided to only move kids at the school year and are therefor going to be moving the entire class like J''s daycare does.

QT~Such a cute way to tell you DH! I bet he''s so excited!! If T wasn''t close to 2 right now I doubt I''d even be close to worried about the binky. If I were you I wouldn''t worry about Meena and hers...she''ll probably need it when the new baby arrives.

Jas12~T is the same way with her binkies....she has to be holding one (at least). I think when we try and de-binky her I may do the thing where you just cut the nipple off and actually let her hold them to sleep. It''s weird, but I see no harm and if she''s not bringing her nipple-free binkies in public.....
3.gif

puffy~Glad to hear my kid''s not the only one confused by the time change....she asked to go to bed at 5:30 the other day!! Last night she was fed, bathed and in bed by 6:30. Weird. The house plans are all finalized and the land is ready, but we still haven''t decided on a date to start digging our hole....it''s been pretty cold here early and DH is worried about a bad winter and doesn''t want to be mid-construction during the winter (says we won''t get quality). So, we''ll see.

QT, that is really cute!!

OK, quickly flying by for Amelia''s 19 month stats.

Height - 35 inches - 95%
Weight - 24 pounds, 10 oz - 50%
Head - 47.5 cm 70%

She''s looking good, and even the doc said, "Look at these long legs!"

TGal--
Wow, A is a good 3 inches taller than J.
No wonder she looks stuff in her carseat ^.^
You must be strong to be able to put A in her carseat.
J is smaller and lighter and it wasn''t an easy feat for me.

Burk--
I like that they move the entire class.
Less stressful for the kids since they keep the changes to a minimal.
Though for a social butterfly like msT there, I''m sure she won''t have a problem.
Just saw your belly pix. You look so cute and still small, but definitely seeing a baby bump.
Is T noticing it now? :)

Jas12--
Haha.....hopefully the ms goes away soon.
Would hate to see you w/ only 2 babies....since you make such gorgeous and smart babies.
Hey, just wondering if your EDD on the preggo is right?
5/12 would put you about a month ahead no?

Anyway, that is too funny about Co and his lovely binky.

Puffy--
Haha, so you are saying that you don''t know where B got his caring nature from?
9.gif

QT--
What a cute reveal.
Now, make sure no one in the family see those gifts if you guys want to keep it secret from everyone.
Your MIL and FIL would be so thrilled huh?

WHAT A STRESSFUL DAY! Aggg! So I drive all the way to the testing center only to find out that their server is down ("didn''t someone call you?" ummm no) so I reset it for tomorrow morning. I figure, what is an extra day even though I am the type of person to mentally prepare myself so it takes me a few minutes to recharge when the plan has been changed. Well a little bit ago I got a call from them saying the server is still down and wanted to have me take it on the 23rd. NO WAY! No way am I waiting that long. Plus my application is due on the first and it takes up to two weeks for them to get the scores. Anyways, I had to talk the less than intelligent lady into giving me a time next friday (you can see the available dates online) so a week from today I will be DONE! HOPEFULLY! I just hope something doesn''t happen b/c it might invoke a total mental breakdown. **stepping off my soapbox**

Janine, basically I have had no me time the past 6 weeks. I guess that''s how it will be when I am back in school though. The animal theme was really easy to do. I use regular soap.

lili, yeah, I guess once they get it they cannot get it again (like the chickenpox). So far so good. J is in pullups already? T is so far behind.

puffy, thanks. We still have some left over cupcakes.

Jas12, most everything I bought online so your friend should be able to get any of it if she likes what I used. The ham and cheese were in pie crust so they kept their shapes perfectly. The PB&J did except for the lions (with the tail). So as long as she avoids any small shapes it should be fine. Hope you feel better soon.

Burk, I take her on Thursday. I cannot believe she is 2 either. Such a big girl. I know I should be thinking about getting rid of the binky too. She just loves it so much. I am torn.

Bobo, hope the bobo family feels better today!

Diva, you do NOT want to know how late T stayed up last night. We need to curb that. Glad the house is coming together.

Kay, yes, it was the Gap contest. I have no hope that she will win but someone made me do it
3.gif
Congrats on surviving the first year! I think most of us no longer feel comfortable posting pictures of our kids. Tessa was just getting too old and identifiable. But many of us share them on FB.

Q, love the onesies. Your DH must be thrilled. If I lived in LA I would TOTALLY help you with M''s party!

MrsS, thanks for the luck. Hopefully things will go smooth next Friday. Friday the 13th. Lucky right?
2.gif

TGal, A is a tall girl! Lucky her!
snlee, thanks! T refused to nap on halloween too. It was annoying!

Thanks msb700 & Burk.

Janine, we wash little B''s hand with any soap that is available. Dove in our room, dish detergent in the kitchen etc.

Thanks Kay, somehow DH and I have lot more symptoms than little B. He is almost back to his old self after his fever broke with little cough. DH and I have a faucet running under our nose and coughing with bad headache and major body ache for me.

Thanks lili, Dr. thought his rashes were Petechiae and we shouldn''t worry about it if his fever broke and is back to his old self.

Thanks Puffy, DH and I seems to get worse as little B gets better. Major running nose and head and body ache. Seems like everyone is sick around us and when we go out we hear coughing everywhere. How sweet of your B to get you blanket and pillow...I will melt if little B do that for me.

Thanks QT, while little B was running with fever I keep praying that give me what B have so he can get better. I guess my wish was granted. Happy Anniversary! love the onesie idea.

Jas12, I''m dying for a piece of that cake you posted...talk about wacky, little B have to sleep with a blanket in his hand so he can smell it as he goes to sleep.

TGal, Amelia is a long legged beauty!

Thanks Tacori, Sorry to hear your test time got moved. You will do great next week!!

Lili and QT, would you believe I’m not on Facebook? PS is the only online “social networking” I do. I like it because it is mostly anonymous and I can come and go as I please when I have the time. Facebook just seemed like a chore, since I’d have to check in regularly to update my page and reply to messages so people would not get offended that I was not responding to them. I already have a hard enough time keeping up with responding to e-mails. Plus, I don’t want clients, people from high school, distant family, etc. to be able to check up on my personal life by finding me on FB. Is it possible to create a FB page without using your real name? I wouldn’t mind creating a page to share pictures and messages with the PS mommies, if I can keep people from my real life from finding me.

Puffy, that is so cute that B is telling you what to eat for his brother. Sounds like he is excited to be a big bro.

Janine and Snlee, I wish A was still into her paci. She mostly lost interest in it a few months ago, although I can still use it to help her sleep on occasion. When she was using them, we would just leave the binky in her mouth when we put her in the crib, and she would spit it out at some point. Most nights, I put her to sleep by rocking her while I feed her a bottle. I’m not sure what I’m going to do when she gives up bottles. She often falls asleep sucking on the bottle, so when it’s clear she is no longer actually drinking, I pull the bottle out quickly. If she makes sucking motions like she wants it back, I pop the binky in. She goes to bed between 8:30 and 9. For a while, she was sleeping until 6:30 or 7:30 almost every night. The past several weeks though, she wakes up at least once a night. I think it started when she was teething, and she fell into a pattern. Sometimes we just walk her until she goes back to sleep. Sometimes I pull her into bed with me and feed her a bottle and let her co-sleep for an hour or two until she becomes too restless and then she goes back to her crib. I can always tell when she is tired because she rolls onto her face and pulls her knees up and sticks her hiney in the air. It is too cute.

Burk, that’s nice that T loves her daycare. I felt guilty about going back to work at first, but A just loves daycare. When I drop her off in the morning, she toddles off to play with her buddies. It is nice that she usually looks excited to see me when I pick her up, though. I think she is learning to walk faster than she would if I kept her at home, because several of her buddies are a month or 2 or 3 older, and she wants to walk because they can.

QT, belated Happy Anniversary!
36.gif
What a great present for your DH. I bet he is so excited.

Jas, that’s actually cute that he cuddles the paci. I hope your MS passes soon.

TGal, looks like you’ve got a long, lean one too. Tell the Dr. to stop checking out her legs.

2.gif

Tacori, sorry to hear about the screw up with the testing center. I also get very frustrated when plans change at the last minute, especially if I have been psyching myself up, so I can understand how annoyed you are. I am sure you will rock it next week though. I also entered A in the Gap contest. MIL is sure she should be a baby model, so I entered the contest to make her happy. Of course, I entered on the last day, so the kid has like 10 votes and no chance of winning.

Bobo, I hope you and your family feel better real soon.

A is growing so fast. I have to check my notes of her 1 year check up when I get home, but I believe she was a little over 31” and 20 or 21 pounds. I remember she was 99th percentile for height and 58th for weight. She looks older than 1 because of her size. She has always been very outgoing, but she is becoming a bit more shy. She likes to babble; she can say Ma-Ma and Da-Da (although not always to the right person), and baba, wow, uh-oh, and a few others. About 6 weeks ago, she started taking steps while holding someone’s hand. Two weeks ago, I went to pick her up from day care and she was standing at the other end of the room. I called to her and waived, and she took 5 steps toward me before she fell -- I was so surprised. She didn’t try again for a few days, but then she started trying to take a few steps. The past few days, she has been practicing a lot in the mornings and evenings, and can make it across our living room if she has enough momentum. She is so excited about her new skill – she claps for herself.

A was a ballerina for Halloween (because I found an adorable outfit at Nordstrom). She loved playing with her tutu. I can’t resist posting a picture.

Ballerina.JPG

Bobo, hope you feel better soon!

Kay, no one said you have to use your real name in FB
2.gif
Plus you can accept who you want to be your friend. I don''t find it a chore but I have a lot of free time. That GAP contest was totally absurd. Some of those kids had THOUSANDS of votes. I didn''t put much effort into it. From behind A was an adorable ballerina. Yay that she is walking! That is so exciting!

burk well at least everything is done for the house and you guys are just waiting to start. we''ve given up on houses for now. it was just getting way too stressful and we couldn''t agree what we wanted to do with our current home, so i said forget for now since our home now is plenty big for the 4 of us.

lili haha...i''m not totally saying that i don''t know where B gets his nurturing side from, but he is just so opposite of what i thought my little boy would be. well, maybe my littlest guy will love playing in the mud and getting dirty and B will be inside helping me clean up. haha. how is J doing?

tacori sorry about the stressful day!! you still have cupcakes left? wow!! if i was there, i would have helped you finish all of them!

bobo glad that little B is getting better, but sorry to hear that you and your DH are getting worse!! hopefully all 3 of you guys will be better real soon. i''m sure little B will start to "take care" of you all the time soon. it''s pretty cute when they do stuff like that.

kay B is definitely excited about being a big brother! he can''t wait, he talks about it everyday and tells everyone that i''m growing his baby brother in my belly, as if people couldn''t tell i am preggo. haha. cute pic of A. so cute that she is clapping for herself too. it''s really fun when they start to walk and are super wobbly in the beginning. i love the wobbly stage.

tgal-wow, A it tall, she''s got 3 inches on jake! glad her appt. went well.

tacori-what a bummer that the test was postponed. I know you just want to get it over with at this point.

kay-love the little ballerina!!

busy weekend again for us. my oldest is in a play and went took the girls last night. going back again tonight with just hubby for the final performance. my in-laws are visiting too which is fun. it''s 70 here today and just gorgeous.

hope all the mommies are doing great!!

Quick drive-by before bed...

Re: Pacis. James never used one. The nurses gave him one when he was born but we could never get him to take one once he came home. I''m kind of glad...one less thing to wean him from! There were times when it would have been nice though - just so he would be quiet!

Re: FB. Kay - I''m on FB and friends with many of our mommies on here. I did use my real name and I''m friends with other people too. You can set up an account using a "fake" name and then set your privacy settings how you want them. For example, if you want to read my profile and see my pictures then you have to be friends with me. In other words, you can search for me and find me but can''t access my information unless we are friends.

SNLEE - I''m another happily working mother. After my six-month maternity leave I discovered that I am not SAHM material. James goes to daycare part-time and he loves it. Our home-based provider does "school" activites with all of the kids and James needs the socialization too.

The house is coming together. The Man Cave needs the most work - I''m heading shopping tomorrow to get some organizational things. James is loving having his own yard - and so am I!

Looks like there will be a recall for Maclaren strollers due to hinges cutting off fingertips. Just FYI:

http://baby411.typepad.com/babybargains/2009/11/recall-massive-maclaren-stroller-recall-coming-this-tuesday.html

ETA: Looks like Robbie started a thread about this.

kay: come join FB! It''s a great way to share photos without having them on the big web. I set up a "fake" account (same name as here) and so it''s only PS moms I let see the photos. I have another "real world" FB account but dont'' want to mix the 2 because I''m sure mommies would rather not see updates from some random high school connection and my other friends probably would rather not deal with mommy updates every second! hehe. A sounds a lot like C, except for the height! She even has the same curls in the back of her hair! C also has taken a few steps but would rather I hold her hands to walk. It''s killing my back and she''s bossy when I try to take a break! The sleeping things is tough. C wakes up but if I leave the binky in alll night, it seems better (haha, guess can''t pick up only good habits from PS)--but often she spits it out and then wakes up and wants me to be in the room. She is going through major attachment stuff--as soon as she sees me she is very whiney until I hold her. If I''m out of the room though she becomes miss sweetness with everyone! Anyway, love the photo and the shoes!

tacori: sorry about all the test drama, I would have been furious! I mean the whole point of test centers is for convenience! Hope it works out..

re: Maclaren strollers-that is scary!!! Anyone look into it?

QT: love how you told DH and cute that he has to share the secret--well eveyone has to have at least one person to share a secret with! Can''t wait till you guys decide on names! And wow, waht a lovely gift from your DH. Your hubby needs to give mine some lessons!

Tgal- Amelia is SO tall! -Co is short and fat compared to her
9.gif

He''s only about 32 inches and at least 27 lbs. He actually doesn''t look fat when in the buck. He''s pretty normal looking to me. But he is so solid. i am exhausted if i have to carrying him around. Will probalby take after charlie who isn''t really tall, but is lean yet somehow really heavy and big-boned.

Tacori--so sucky about the test. when you gear yourself up to get it overwith and then have to reshedule-twice-is super maddening.
Thanks for the party food info. The ham and cheese animals sound SO good. So you just cut the shapes in the dough -layer in the cheese and ham and then bake. mmmm.

Lili--ooops, i put the wrong month in. Thanks! I''ll have to go back and change it.

.......

I have my first midwife appnt today and i am looking fwd to it. i am going to be missing a lot of work with her however, my friend tells me that her appnts are never less than 1.5 hours. have no idea what we will talk about for that length of time. Maybe they''ll be shorter b/c this is #2 and i am sure i won''t have many questions.

Co and i had our real first "battle royale" this morn. He has never really thrown a tantrum before and listens very well. But this weekend he decided to test, test, test. All the things he is normally very compliant with he decided he''d test one by one. It was interesting to watch actually. A noticable shift. All weekend he tested, but easily listened to me. Until this morn. My MIL showed up at 7am as usual and we were all sitting having breakfast and he was half-way thru his piece of toast and announced: "all done" . I said, okay, so i went to take his tray (with his food) away and he grabbed the toast to take with him and said "noo, toast, down" (obviously wanted to take it with him which is a no-no). So i said "finish your toast here, or mom takes it and you go and play". He. lost. it. He was distraught and wanted grandma to save him (she got ''the look'' from me so she knew better) but it lasted a loooong 5 mins of hysterical crocodile tears before he gave in & surrendered the toast. I think he thought he would win with grandma around. I had to fill her in on his new found independent-streak and hold her we needed to all be on the same page! I am wondering how frequent this will be now. He is such an easy kid, i can''t complain, but now the fun begins.....

Tacori, that is a bummer about the testing! Fingers crossed for you this week!

Re: Pacis, Amelia used one at night only and I weaned her off a few months ago. It took a little while and was hit or miss, but she just stopped one day. Now she has nothing in her crib when she sleeps. I think her Halo Sleep Sacks are her comfort thing.

As for Amelia''s height, I think they are wrong. We took the yardstick and she looks to be 34 inches...maybe 34.5 tops. No way she is 35 inches but I guess the top of her head is deceiving when measuring with a yardstick.

Jas, hahaha..well that is what happens when you have a smartie! But I think they are getting to *that* age. Amelia is starting to test boundaries too, which includes falling to the floor and chucking a nice fruity. I ignore her and it stops pretty quickly. So far, those have been way few and far between, but she''s definitely starting to whinge a LOT more.

add Jake to the testing crew. His favorite is to mess with the little rocks in the gas fireplace or climb up on my kitchen table to dance...crazy kid.

we had a great weekend and my oldest was just amazing in her play. for those of you on FB i posted a video of her singing a song in the show so you can see a bit if you are interested. my in-laws were in town and to add to the excitement my MIL decided to take a tumble down our stairs and was taken to the hospital yesterday morning and kept over night. she fell a couple of weeks ago and broke her shoulder and now has a swollen jaw and bump on the head and short term memory loss. no internal bleeding and they released her today thank God!! she still doesn''t remember the fall at all. but she''s doing better and they are planning on heading home tomorrow.

not much in other Jake news. he''s a wild man but a love bug. we went to dinner at my sisters last night and he insisted on giving everyone a kiss goodbye. he puckers his lips and sucks in his cheeks..it''s so endearing....

happy monday all!!

Tacori--
Ah....hope everything goes smoother w/ your next test date.
Nah, J is not completely in pull-ups.
She just insists on the pull-ups when she''s home on the weekend.
She''s still in her regular diapers when she''s at daycare.
She still doesn''t tell us consistently when she needs to go.
Only on a whim or when she sees me going will she say she needs to use the potty or shishi.
Right now, she only goes in the morning, before bath, and before she goes to sleep.
I like the morning one since that''s when she does #2, so one less smelly diaper I have to deal w/ :D

T is pretty tall too no? (well, not Tayva or Amelia tall :)
I figure she got some of the tall gene from her daddy.
How tall is she by the way?

Bobo--
That''s great the rashes were not something serious.
And glad to hear that B is back to his old self.
Bummer about you and hubby catching what B had though.
I hate those faucet runny nose. Hope you guys are on the mend.

Kay--
Like the others have said, you can use any alias for your FB.
You can be as discreet as you want and not provide (or made your info) visible to people.
I didn''t join FB until not too longer ago.

That is one cute ballerina.
And I love those curls!
Her hair is darker now huh?

Puffy--
That''s great then. B can clean up after his messy little brother.
Or his little brother might drive him up the wall w/ his messy antics :)
That''s how my nieces were. The older one is very neat and organized...and the second is not (she''ll keep her room neat enough so her mom would not reprimand her).
It used to drive the older one crazy when they were sharing a room because the younger one is always messing it up :D

J is doing good.
Caught a cold this weekend.
Don''t know if it was because of the H1N1 shot or what?
Hopefully, it won''t get any worse.

MrsS--
Oo...gotta go take a look at that video.
Sorry to hear that your MIL had some nasty falls.
Hope she''s doing much better now.

for James'' private yard.
Much needed space for him to run around and burn off those energy huh?

China--
Thanks for the heads-up on the Macclaren.

Janine--
I guess there are some advantages being short.
I don''t have that back issue when walking J before because I''m a shorty:D
Don''t worry about the hand-holding when walking.
C will walk on her own soon enough.
