PS Mommy thread with toddlers 12-36 months

burk-I don''t blame you at all for getting another crib. when I was preggo C was only 20 months when Lily was born. I moved her into a toddler bed and it worked okay. she stayed in it at night for a while but eventually started getting out and coming into our room. I would never have moved her so soon if I didn''t need the crib and I think keeping them contained for as long as possible is the best way to go. I was looking at Jake the other day thinking that C was his age when I moved her into the toddler bed. there is no way Jake would be ready for that move. I honestly am surprised he hasn''t figured out how to climb out of his crib b/c he climbs very well but I''m grateful and will keep him there as long as I can. I love white furniture for little girl rooms. that is what my girls have.

jas12- i wouldn''t do the H1N1 either if no one around you has it. we''ve had a bunch of confirmed cases here and a 5 year old died in our area in August. I wish I would have taken one of my girls to the dr. when they were sick just so I knew if they did have it or not. If I knew they had it already and I suspect they did, both had the common symptoms I obviously skip it. that is crazy you have to wait so long to see the dr. for cohen. Our office here has a separate waiting area for sick kids so they aren''t in the same room with the well ones. the longest I''ve waited was about 10 minutes. i''m so happy you found a midwife too! I actually have to hide snacks b/c Jake will just stand in front our our panty or the cookie jar and beg if he sees them. he does eat a very well balanced diet, probably better than any of the rest of us but I could see it spiraling out of control quickly, especially with his newfound love for the word "no" accompanied with a head shake.

lili-I''ll try to get some more video''s of Jake.

I''m hoping for no rain this afternoon b/c I''m supposed to be heading to the pumpkin patch for a field trip with Lily''s kindergarten class. We''ve been so looking forward to the time together one on one along with a hayride, corn maze etc.

MrsS. --We are going to the pumpkin patch tomorrow too! I hope that the rain holds off for you and i can''t wait to see the pics

.
Oh yes, co begs for a treat once in a while too. Yesterday he just kept repeating "more, more, more" over the 20 min drive home from work b/c i made the mistake of giving him a kids vitamin c tablet (which probably tastes like candy) and he was devestated that it was a one-time deal. He wouldn''t give up the battle
3.gif

Too bad you don''t know if the fam had H1N1. Vaccines are a tough one for me. I really don''t like them, but i don''t want to risk the illness either. Non-lifethreatening viruses are not a big deal, but H1N1, although i think much is scare tactics, is still pretty unpredictable. Ugh. this is the part of parenting i don''t like--the worry and the decisions
15.gif

Burk-i am all for the crib. I have a friend that just decided that her son had to be ready to move (he''s almost 2) and it was a battle Royale--and i was thinking "why?" I mean, i have never heard of case of a kid being attached to a crib and refusing to sleep anywhere else. Maybe it happens, but i suspect the time comes when they want and will embrace choosing a ''big kid'' bed. And if it makes life easier to be in a crib--stick with it. I *may* try to transition co to a bed a couple months before the new babe comes along, but if he''s not ready, i guess iam going to just buy another crib. Not a big deal. They can be sold to someone!
T is going to be tall, thin, blonde and beautiful. I feel sooo sorry for her
2.gif

Lili--haha, the key-pounding is what drives me nutty. And I am afraid to show Co the world of the internet since he is big on TV right now. This past week i have been first-Trimester exhausted after work and desperately wanting to nap for 15 mins. I tried to put Co in his crib to read books so i could have a quick cat-nap and he FREAKED. So, i have some Yo Gabba Gabba PVR''ed and i laid him on my chest while plopped on the couch and turned it on. He laid quietly for 20 mins and i passed out! Problem is, every day now when we get in the house he yells "mom, a show, a show". It takes all my will power to not turn one on b/c i want the nap & the cuddles, but i hate that he will just be sitting there watching T.V. i am such a guilt-inflicted mom
5.gif

lili~That''s so funny about J wanting the computer down. These girls have minds of their own, don''t they!?!? Yep, T is a skinny little thing. I swear we feed her but she just doesn''t seem to gain very easily. She looks absolutely tiny next to my DH because he''s a pretty big guy.

mrss~My MIL wanted us to use this white furniture she already has and I felt bad not doing so and buying another crib I everything I read says when they''re ready you''ll know and she just isn''t....and I admit I''m not ready for her to be free either!
9.gif
T climbs well on everything else just like Jake but doesn''t even attempt to climb out of her crib...but climbing IN her crib she does try. Odd child I have! Hope you had a great time at the pumpkin patch!!

jas12~I figure it''s really not worth pushing on her. She still loves her crib. She asks to play in it in the mornings!
40.gif
She''ll read books and play with her stuffed animals in there for probably 10 minutes or so every morning while I get ready (by her own choice). So, I figure get a convertible crib, if she seems ready some time in the near future we can make it a toddler bed and eventually when she''s really ready we''ll make a double. Co will be a bit older than T when your baby comes so maybe he''ll be ready...and maybe not. You have time to wait it out and see though.

So glad it''s Friday. T was up last night at around 3am yelling "mommy help." I went in there and she asked me to "rock rock" her so I did for a while and she just couldn''t get settled. It took a good hour or so to get her to go back to sleep. I''m pretty sure she was constipated because she almost started crying when she pooped this morning and then looked at me and said "poop ouch"
23.gif
Needless to say, I''m tired and so ready to just relax tonight. Hope everyone is having a great day!!!

so, the weather cooperated but the pumpkin patch folks didn''t, they were closed due to lots of mud. we are going to try to go again tomorrow.

jas-i hope you guys have fun at your pumpkin patch. I love getting fall pictures of the kiddo''s will all the pumpkins, hay, etc. oh and don''t feel bad at all about letting Co watch a little. When I was preggo with jake I was so sick with a horrible cold and has m/s and was tired and she watched tv/movies for an entire day. I honestly do not think a little tv will hurt them and sometimes we need a little help.

burk-sorry T had a rough night. I hope you guys can have a nice relaxing night tonight.

MrsS--
Bummer about the pumpkin patch folks not cooperating, but that''s probably for the best since it probably isn''t too much fun for you to have to scrape off mud from Lily''s boots later :D
It must be nice to live in a rural area where hayride and pumpkin patch are a short drive away.
We have to settle for a make-shift pumpkin patch here (bunch of pumpkins scattered in gas stations or empty lots
7.gif
) and an authentic hayride is nowhere to be found.
Hope the weather is sunny and the ground dries up tomorrow.
Is Jakey going to go as well? Or is this just you and Lily''s day?

Burk--
Awww...poor T and of course poor you.
Hope you guys have a better night tonight.
TGIF.

Jas12--
Haha, that is too cute.
Co is pretty mild-mannered and patient huh?
J would be in a screaming fest after 2 minutes of repeating what she wants.
I agree w/ MrsS, watching TV a little is good. I sort of look at TV like junk food.
Sometimes you gotta let them enjoy a little, else they''ll go overboard once they are able to get their hands on it themselves.
Besides, I grew up watching tv almost 24/7 and I think I turned out ok :P

jas 12: I''m with Lili and Mrssalvo, a little tv is perfectly fine. I''m not sure why some are so 100% against it? If it''s moderated and helps us keep our LO''s distracted during those fussy moments, why not? Although that yo gabba gabba show creeps me out a bit, C loves it too!
2.gif

MrsS
Yes my dr will try to see the sex of the baby again next Friday.

Boo pumpkin patch people. Hehe. I was looking forward to those pics. Hopefully you will get to go again soon. I have to look for a pumpkin patch by us.
lili
My mom says b/c wet underwears and pants are uncomfortable, and usually the kids learn to not wet their pants. We had this convo before I even had M when I was talking to her about our nephew. We are not PTing M any time soon since she isn’t showing signs of readiness. But I have to read up on PTing to decide on what to do or when to start.

M always wants to hit the keyboard of the laptop too. We actually gave her a spare wireless keyboard to play with, but she likes the laptop with the “pictures”. But at least your DH doesn’t give you a hard time when J touches it. DH is always saying how M will mess up my laptop, and the whole time I am thinking “it’s just your old laptop.” LOL.

I don’t even see any fake pumpkin patch in our neighborhood. We’ll have to venture out of our city.
Puffy
I wish you had time to find us on FB b/c I would love to see videos of B singing and shaking his booty. M likes to bounce, shake her arms and bump her head to music. It’s so funny.

I am doing well. How are you feeling? DH wasn’t feeling well yesterday, but seems ok today. And people are getting the flu left and right at work. But so far so good for me.

The weekly art classes sounds fun. I would love for M to go to some classes, like gymboree classes, but there aren’t a lot of weekend classes. And MIL isn’t fluent in English to take her on weekdays.

Tacori
Sounds like you are getting great tips and tricks for your GRE.
When is your application due? In a couple of months?

I am with you on not feeling as comfortable asking the inlaws for favor. Heck they live with me and offer to watch M even when I am home, but it’s still hard to ask them for help when I actually need it.
Jas12
That’s a long wait to see your dr. I must’ve missed that you found a midwife already. Had you gone in for an appt with the midwife yet?

Glad you had a talk with your MIL, and all is well.

Can’t wait to see your pumpkin patch pics too. I was just about to ask if you ladies were taking the kiddos to the pumpkin patch b/c I know a lot of you did last year.

Ditto on a little TV is ok. When I was younger, my mom didn’t let us watch a lot of TV. And now I am a total TV junkie. =P
Burk
For some reasons, I thought you got her a big girl bed. We are leaning toward getting a full size bed for M. My mom thinks we need a toddler bed, and offered to buy her one. I’m just not 100% sure yet.

I had no idea who Abby Cadabby is until I started letting M watch Sesame Street. My coworker bought M an Elmo and an Abby plush, and she didn’t know who Abby was. She just got it b/c she thought I would know.

Talking about Yo Gabba Gabba
I am kind of bummed that I can’t find it since so many of your kids love that show. I am not sure if we get that channel. It doesn’t help that my HS friend keeps updating his FB status about the Yo Gabba Gabba tour and filming for the show. It makes me so much more intrigued.
Tricks or Treating
Are you taking your LO out for ToTing this year? I want to b/c she is walking, so I think it’ll be fun/cute. But my coworker was like “but she doesn’t know how to say ‘tricks or treats’ yet, so it’s like the candies are for the parents”. Our plan was to take our nephew and M, but it seems like SIL wants to take him this year. Maybe we’ll just take her to walk around in the neighborhood, but not actually go ToTing.

tacori hope you are getting time to study for the GRE. my ILS are local and they will wait for me to bring B over to them. they NEVER visit us at home and when they do see B, it's for like 10 minutes and then they're like oh ok then, bye. so whatever. i think they have gone over a month without seeing him and i assume they are fine with that. for me, it's just weird since they are so close to us...like 10 miles. and they never offer to watch B, maybe it's cause they know how i feel about them watching him. they did try to feed him coke when he wasn't even 1 and he almost did fall down a flight of stairs when he was not even 1 cause they thought he could go down the stairs by himself. enough rambling....bottom line, i totally know how you feel!!

jas12 how are you feeling? hope you're staying m/s free!!

burk awww, poor T!! hope she's back to sleeping tonight. any baking this weekend? i was thinking about making cinnamon rolls, but no one eats them but me. haha!! and that would be a lot for me to eat! oh and BTW, you look wonderful with your little bump!

lili haha, the funny thing with B is that when it's bedtime or close to it, he will tell me that it's almost bedtime. and no matter how hard he plays before bed, he is always to bed at the same time every night, if not earlier some nights, and asleep within minutes of being in bed. he knows i don't mess around come bedtime. he is great at helping around the house, but i don't think he's TAHT great at it. haha. i'm definitely feeling 100% again, thanks for asking. how is J doing?

qt M sounds adorable with her dances! B loves to "bop" his head to music. he will put on DH's headphones and just start bopping away even if there is no music on. haha. i am getting BIG, and it's not yet getting uncomfy but more like just a pain. everything takes extra effort to do. haha. i'll be 30 weeks on monday so i guess that's to be expected. are you guys going to put M in a daycare later on? or just wait for preschool?

we went to the pumpkin patch 1 day after a storm and the one we wanted to go to was closed so we went to the one across the street...not as good. but the pumpkin pie was YUMMY. haha. so we'll probably head back to the other one sometime this weekend or monday. then we're off to disneyland to have some halloween fun and do a little early trick or treating.

have a great weekend mommies!!

ETA: qt...we took B last year as well even before he knew how to say trick or treat and he had a great time. we went with a bunch of friends where some of the kids were just babies. i personally don't think it matter if they say trick or treat unless of course they are old enough to say it but just won't. it'll be fun to take her out and i'm sure she will have a great time. and it'll be great for pictures as well!!

qtiekiki: can you do a search on your cable guide for the Nick Jr Channel? I bet you have it...and then you can enjoy Yo Gabba Gabba!
2.gif
I don''t think we''ll do trick or treating...C isn''t walking and just seemed like it wouldn''t make sense if she can''t eat candy. But I''m new to this, so if I see other moms bringing babies over, maybe I''ll go out for a bit!

On another "holiday" note, I have a random question: I want to order Xmas stockings, do you ladies put your names on yours or do they say "Mommy" and "Daddy"? This is our first year in our own house, so kind of excited to start some new traditions.

Yo Gabba Gabba - I'm curious about this show too. We don't get Nick Jr channel. We have the very basic cable package since we hardly watch any tv!

puffy, ditto everyone else! I really wish you'd come find us! I would LOVE to see B talk, sing, and shake it! Have fun at disneyland!

janine, you need to find us too!

Trick or Treating, we plan to take D trick or treating just for fun! I know he can't say trick or treat or eat the candy but I think it'll be fun. It'll be interesting to see how he reacts to all the customs and decorations. My parents are convinced that D will HATE Halloween. Once my mom was holding D and talking to a really big tall guy with long hair and a deep voice and D started crying! She couldn't get him to stop until D could no longer see the guy. LOL!

Stockings, we had ones made that say Mom and Dad.

Have a great weekend everyone!

ETA - QT, burk, puffy, love the belly pictures! You are all so tiny, all belly! Very cute!

qt-Jake will go trick or treating but will be strapped in his stroller. no way I''m letting him walk around. we don''t stay out very long, just a few blocks up and back and then we usually take to kids to a harvest festival.

janine-our stockings have our real names on them but we had them pre-kids. If I ever order new ones I will probably switch and have mom and dad put on them.

puffy-have fun at disneyland.

snlee-do you have a costume for D?

puffy
B is too funny with the headphones.
I know what you mean about the belly being a pain. I remember it getting in the way toward the end of the pregnancy. Can''t believe you are almost 30 weeks already.
We plan to put M in daycare when she turns 2. She''ll be 18 months when the baby is born, and I''ll be on Maternity leave for 4.5 months with her and the baby. We''ll see if MIL can handle the baby and M for another 1.5 month, then she can start daycare. We are hoping M can get in the daycare at DH''s work. We already put her on the waiting line since she was 6 months for the toddler room, but they give priority to the babies that are moving up from the baby room.
Thanks for responding about trick or treating.

janine
Yeah we don''t get Nick Jr. Boo.
People do bring their babies. When we took our nephew ToTing two years ago, there was a young couple with their newborn. Everyone loved the baby. So I didn''t even think anything about it until I talked to my coworker.
We didn''t put names on our stockings last year. If we do this year, I don''t think we''ll have ones for ourselves. Probably just for M and her cousins since they all come over for X''mas.

snlee
I think D would be fine ToTing. M doesn''t like one of our friends. Every time she looks at him, she would cry. But when we show her the halloween decors in stores, she isn''t scared.

MrsS
The harvest festival sounds nice. We don''t have any of that here. Maybe I''ll take her to the mall in the afternoon, and then just go to a few houses at night. I wasn''t planning on being out for a long time anyways.

We will take T trick or treating. We did last year as well. She was walking but obviously she did not say anything but "hi" and did not actually eat any of the candy. Most the time we didn''t even take the candy I just wanted her to experience it. Plus she loves being around other kids and it was a good way to socialize with our neighbors. They LOVE seeing the babies so I don''t really think (and I never thought in years past) that the parents are exploiting their kid for candy. Haha. This year she obviously WILL want some candy. She hasn''t really had much unless you count fruit snacks but she is no fool.

Burk, oh no! Poor T! I spoke too soon. Its been cold and rainy here. Ick! I am in NO hurry to get T into a big bed. I like having her contained.

Q, the application is due in 6 weeks
32.gif

6.gif
DH mentioned having dinner at FIL''s house tomorrow night. I asked if he invited us and he said "well no, but he is probably lonely"
20.gif
"Yo Gabba Gabba" is on nick jr. They finally started showing new episodes but it is no longer T''s favorite. She LOVES "Backyardiagans" and "Olivia." Funny how her tastes change.

Puffy, I don''t think my MIL would let a month go by without seeing her but I bet my FIL would. Not sure if he is WAITING for an invitation. In times past he acts put out when we ask him to babysit so we don''t anymore. I remember the coke incident. I would have been LIVID! Seriously what is wrong with some people?

Jas12, I think in my MIL''s case it is a control issue. It is frustrating that I seem to always be the one bending NOT her.

Lili, Princesss is very patient with me
2.gif
She is planning to take the GRE herself so I am forcing her to study.

MrsS, can''t wait to see more Jake videos.

My T is still in love with "Yo Gabba Gabba" She won't watch anything but it and "Sesame Street." She doesn't watch much TV but I have no problem with it because she even learns stuff from those two shows.

Mrss~ Sorry the pumpkin patch was closed. Hope it worked out to go today!

lili~I felt horrible for her and there was of course nothing I could do to help. I think that was the worst part...feeling helpless.

QT~You are going to get M a full size bed before the baby comes? She'll only be 18 months, right? Do you think she's ready? T really isn't now and no way she would have been at 18 months, but every baby is different and if you think you can skip the toddler bed, why not. We'll take T "trick or treating" to our family and friends only. That's what we did last year so they could see her in her costume and then we were home and in bed right around normal time.

puffy~T slept like normal last night but woke early from her nap because she was straining to poop. I gave her some juice because she seems to have loose stools whenever she gets juice so I'm hoping it will help. I love cinnamon rolls...I'd come help you eat them!! I made monkey bread this morning!

snlee~Thanks!

Tacori~Boo about your weather. It's not even 60 today but it still feels better than it has since the sun is out. Poor T is getting so upset with having to stay indoors all the time due to rain and cold.
38.gif
I agree containment is good. The last thing I need with a newborn is to have my toddler running into my room when I'm actually sleeping!
40.gif

T went to bed early last night since she had to be exhausted from the night before. DH and I got caught up on DVRed stuff and just relaxed. It was great. I took T to TJMaxx today and she actually did really well. She wanted to shop for her baby brother which was really cute. Every boy item she saw she said "baby Kade. Get it." Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

QT--
Haha, J is like that w/ the keyboard and cameras too.
She basically tossed the "play" keyboard aside and only wants to pound on the working one.
Same thing w/ the cameras. We gave her our old digial and analog camera to play w. As soon as she picks them up, she tossed them aside
38.gif

I have heard that about the underwears too.
I probably won''t go the underwear route since it will be a pain to clean up the carpet if there is an accident.
We were thinking about getting less absorbent diapers when we start PTing her.

Ugh, was going to post a link about a pumpkin patch in pomona for you, but alas I am too late.
The event was this weekend
7.gif
but here''s the link in case you want to check them out next year.
http://www.csupomona.edu/~agri/news/pumpkin.shtml

ToTing: That''s a bunch of baloney. Just because they don''t know how to say "t or t" doesn''t mean that the parents get all the candies...
and just because they do know how doesn''t mean that they get to eat all the loot either. FYI, I actually give more to little babies just because they were so cute :!
Just teach M to say "boo" if you want her to say something :)
We will take J trick or treating if weather permits. I think you should let M trick-or-treat.
She''ll get a kick out of holding her little basket and seeing candies dropped into it.
So what is M going to be?

Puffy--
Haha....I can only wish that J would shoo me away when it''s close to her bedtime.
She''s getting pretty good at diverting from sleep and naptime -- using every possible mean to stay up a little longer.
J is doing well. She''s definitely talking alot more these days.
This morning, she sneezed and said "jadie sneezed" paused then "I need shooshue".
I looked at her nose and didn''t see any snot, so I told her that she doesn''t need one, but she insisted.
So I gave her a tissue and instead of wiping her nose, she went and wipe her butt.
40.gif

That''s good that you are 100%.
Hope it remains that way for the duration of your trip to Disneyland.

Janine--
Don''t know if we are going to do stockings this year, but if we are, we''ll do mommy and daddy for us instead of names.

Snlee--
Ahh...poor D. Wow, he was pretty young last Halloween though and he was aware of the scary monster?
So what is D going to be this year?

MrsS--
Haha....good luck trying to strap Jake in the stroller
5.gif

I think you''ll have a hard time putting him back in after his first thrill of going up to a door and getting treats :D
So did you manage to get his costume?

Tacori--
Yup, my sister told me that her 2 yr son was eating his loot as he goes from house to house.
He was even sneaking into his buddies'' bag while they were taking picture!
You''ll have to stealthy remove some of T''s loot as you go.

It''s always nice to have a partner to do anything....especially study.
Good luck...not much longer.

Burk--
Yea, I get what you mean about feeling helpless.
I always wished that there I have some sort of transfering power to take away their discomfort and put it on myself.
LOL....very demanding isn''t she. "baby Kade. Get it"
9.gif

But that is so sweet though. Did you show her the u/s picture of baby Kade?
So is she aware of your growing belly now?

snlee how is D doing? what is he going to be for halloween?

qt i''m sure M will have a great time at daycare!! is she pretty social with other kids? what''s M going to be this year for halloween? you are so small, you are barely showing!!

tacori haha, i so know what you mean. the funny thing is that the ILS see nothing wrong with giving B soda, candy, basically anything. so i have to keep an eye on them. haha. but B is at that age where he tells me everything. haha. how is T? i am sure she is as adorable as ever!! i can''t believe her 2nd birthday is right around the corner.

burk aww, poor T!!! i hope she''s been doing better after the juice. haha, i wish you did come over and help with the cinnamon rolls. i did end up making some, not as sweet as i usually would, and they were so good. but i know i ate way too many in 1 sitting!! oh well. that''s so cute that T was looking to get stuff for baby brother. B does that all the time now. every where we go, he is always looking for something to get for his brother. so T knows about the baby now? i''m sure she''s super excited!

lili oh my, J sounds so darn cute!! i can''t believe she used the tissue to wipe her booty!! so funny that girl. it is so fun when they are able to communicate a lot more and are so much better at it! i love it. seriously, i can''t get B to be quiet for 1 second so i can get a word in. if i try to interrupt him, he will tell me, "excuse me, i was speaking, so where was i....." i crack up every time, which is why i think he does it now. haha. what''s j going to be for halloween?

hope everyone is doing well and had a great weekend!! i''ll be super busy tomorrow packing for our trip to disneyland. i am so excited to take B trick or treating with mickey and friends.

oh, had no idea most babies do get taken trick or treating (ok maybe she''s not really a baby anymore, hehe), so maybe we''ll take C out for a bit. She''ll be a lady bug and the costume is certainly warm enough!

thanks for the stocking feedback-we''ll go with "mommy" and "daddy". For some reason I feel weird with "mom" and "dad", still seems like that''s someone else or my parents, haha!

sounds like Yo Gabba Gabba is popular with alot of little ones! I find it kind of a wacky show, but definitely appeals to the kiddies! It''s kind of like Teletubbies meets Electric Company to me. Sorry you don''t get the channel Qtiekiki, maybe some DVD''s?

ok, will post more later after I''ve read up so I can respond individually! Hope everyone had a great weekend!!

lili~She is beyond demanding! She has been in this new phase where she tells DH and I to "lay down on the pillow" and she puts pillows down on the floor in her play room (which is also DH''s office...with hardwood floors!
6.gif
) and she gets seriously pissed if we don''t comply!
20.gif
As for making the connection between baby Kade and my belly....nope. She really has no idea anything is different with my belly but she knows she''s going to have a brother and where his room is, ect. We''re just introducing a little at a time. Still a long time to wait if we tell her a baby is coming out of my belly in 3.5 months so we keep it a bit vague.
21.gif

puffy~Yum for cinnamon rolls. I ate way too much monkey bread too. Oh well. Tasted good going down, though!
3.gif
Like I told lili, we haven''t really gotten into the baby Kade being in my belly, ect. We''re keeping it pretty vague. She loves playing in his room and wants to share her toys with him and shop for him so I guess that''s good. Good luck with the packing. I''m sure you guys will have a great time!!

janine~"Yo Gabba Gabba" is weird but for some reason most kids love it. It''s the only show I was able to get T to actually watch when she was C''s age!! Then we found "Sesame Street."

Puffy--
Man, your B speaks so fluently, more so than most preschoolers.
Good luck w/ the pack and have a fun trip in the "happiest place on earth".
Take lots of pictures if you can.

Don''t know what J is going to be yet.
Will need to go and look for one soon.

Burk--
Haha, I think girls are so demanding.
J does that too w/ her Daddy and is also very persistent in diapering him.
After she diapers all her stuff animals, she went to fetch another one and told her daddy to "lie down" and "diaper on daddy"
20.gif

Daddy had to comply else she''ll be pushing him to lie down.

Maybe tell her when she is aware of your growing belly?
Oh, so will you be taking maternity pictures w/ T this time?

Janine--
You should take C TorTing.

re: yo gabba gabba....

I remember that Tacori said Tessa loved it, so I hunted it out to watch it first. It''s freaky! It''s weird! It''s psychedelic!

Honestly, not sure I can have my kid watch it...I''m sure she would love it but that show CREEPS ME OUT a la Barney!

re: yo gabba gabba....

I remember that Tacori said Tessa loved it, so I hunted it out to watch it first. It''s freaky! It''s weird! It''s psychedelic!

I will not allow this show to be on in our house! It totally freaks me out. Lily has no idea it exists so we''ll just stick to Backyardigans, Wonder Pets and Sesame Street. She only recently discovered tv and I try to keep it to a minimum but these 3 shows seem harmless. Yo Gabba Gabba is just too bugged out for me!!!

Yeah, I know! I was afraid it was a recipe for ADD, but so many of our PS babies love it, and I usually take all my parenting advice from here!

I think I like Dora. Wonder Pets is cute too. We got DVR at this house so I think it will come in handy.

Love reading all the stuff on PT. Amelia is a stealth pooper. Don''t think she is going to be trainable any time soon.

Burk, T is for TALL! She''s got a couple of inches on Amelia, I think and they are only about 3 months apart. Amelia is not 25 pounds yet because she''s not registering on our bathroom scale...

Tacori
Oh it’s crunch time for you on the application.
Hehe so funny T is over Yo Gabba Gabba and onto the next thing. M watches some of the regular Nickelodeon stuffs since nephew is watching those after school, but none of the toddler stuffs.
I am surprised that your FIL doesn’t want to see T more.
Burk
Yeah M will be 18 months when the baby comes. I am not sure if she is ready for the big bed. We just talked about the bed situation again over the weekend, and he talked about getting a PNP for the baby in our room for the first few months. So if that’s the case, then M can be in the crib for a little while longer and we still have time to decide.
How cute that T likes to shop for her baby brother.
lili
hehe. Kids are too smart to be fooled with the “play” keyboards and electronics.
Our downstairs is tiles, so I would probably go the diaper-less route. Just mean she can’t play in her room with her toys.
I don’t know if I will be successful at teaching M to say “boo”, but that’s a cute idea. M will love holding the bucket since she already does that at home. We’ll probably give her candies to her cousins.
She is going to be Tinker Bell. We got the costume way back in August. At first, I was thinking an animal costume, but the costume was just too cute when we saw it.
What is J going to go as?
LOL on J needing the tissue to wipe her butt. How adorable.
Puffy
I hope she’ll do well at daycare. She loves following the boys (our 4 and 5 yrs nephews) around. I haven’t really seen her interacts with someone her age. She usually doesn’t even play along side of her 14 months cousin. She tried to kiss him last week when they came over.
M is going to be Tinker bell. What about B?
Forgot to say have fun at Disneyland. I can’t wait to take M.
You are small for 30 weeks too.
Janine
They will always be our babies even when they are grown. =D
Yeah I’ll probably get a DVD to see if she likes it.
Tgal
In that case, I don’t know if DH would want M to watch Yo Gabba Gabba. He HATES Barney.

hi all. we still have not made it to the pumpkin patch. we scheduled again for tomorrow and the weather is predicted to be in the mid 60''s and sunny so we should finally be able to make it. I think I''m more excited than the kids. I love getting fall pics with the pumpkins and hay.

Jake will only watch Baby Einstein. I tried to put on a Blue''s Clue''s and he started crying. So, back to Baby Einstein we went. I did record a Sesame Street but so far he just gets up and walks away. I guess it''s a good thing he doesn''t really care to watch tv.

Tgal--ya, Yo Gabba Gabba is some weird. I don''t like it, the voices are sooo irritating. But Co loves it. Yesterday, very clearly he said "mom, a show, Gabba Gabba" Grrrreat. This is what he choses as one of his first full sentences

I try to limit it to a couple shows a week, but that is getting harder now that i have bad morning sickness and it''s taking all my effort just to function, never mind chase after him. Ah well.

MrsS.--hope the weather cooperates for the pumpkin patch today!

Cohey is great. He''s off to gymnastics again this morning. He has a girlfriend there and saves her a seat when he arrives. He is super shy/sensitive about it too. My MIL took a picture of them together and when i show it to him he says her name and then burries his head into his shoulder and tries to hide. It''s almost like he doesn''t want anyone to know of his little relationship--so funny.
He has been having troubles going to sleep for the past week and a half (crying hard and wanting someone to be with him until he falls asleep) this is not like him & i suspected it was some sort of security thing so yesterday i took him to walmart and let him pick out a stuffed toy "just for bedtime" and we got a baby elmo --don''t know if it was coincidence but he was excited to see him in his crib and went down without a peep

Hoping it works again tonight!

ha, I love all the yo gabba gabba comments! That show freaks me out too, it is psychedelic and the chants are so repetitive. The first time I saw it I was creeped out and was like what the ???? is this? But then I looked at C and she was enraptured and laughing at those giant furry creatures. I had a playdate come over and that show was on in the background and same effect! It must have some kind of hypnotic effect. C just loves TV, I''m trying to limit it. She''ll watch almost anything and points at the TV all the time. I do enjoy the Backyardigans with her (why are there so few of these episodes, and seem to be from 2004), and Blues Clues in the morning. That''s about the only shows she''ll watch for a block of time. Other shows are just fleeting moments or if she''s fussy and we need to break the tantrum! Wonder Pets is cute, but that duck annoys me...looks like I''m watching these shows more than any babies!

jas12: sorry to hear about the morning sickness--that has to be hard with work and Co. I think the TV breaks are necessary for sure in your case! Did you have MS the first time around? I hear sometimes the 2nd pregnancy can be different.

mrssalvo: we''re hoping for pumpkin patching this wkend too--we''ve had such cold weather, and looks like a break this wkend.

Tgal: you come up with the best phrases..stealth pooper, ha! Well she''s a lady I suppose!

puffy: have fun at Disney! can''t wait till C is old enough to go (we have family in LA).

lili: what''s J going to be for halloween (sorry if i missed it). Yay for mommy and daddy stockings, i can''t wait to order ours!

Hey mamas! "Yo Gabba Gabba" is a strange show but T loves it (a little less now but still seems interested) and I think it has good messages. Plus she LOVES the songs and dances. T mimics all the moves. So funny. She has all the dolls and calls them by the correct name. It is so funny. So I got over the creepy factor. She has really started to like "Max and Ruby" which I think is SOOOO boring. Plus, seriously, where are the parents? I don''t like shows like that. Her "Dora" obsession has also cooled off a bit. "Backyardigans" is my favorite for sure.

Burk, T is going to be such a great big sister. So cute she likes to shop for him.

Lili, I bet T would TOTALLY sneak the candy *if* she knew how to open the wrappers. That is going to be SUCH a busy weekend for me. My mom will be here and her party is that sunday. I took another practice test today and did improve. Still below my goal though.

puffy, it is so annoying to have to monitor other adults huh? I wish T talked more. Soon enough she will tattle on my MIL. I am sure of it. T is recovering from a cold but doing good. Have fun in disneyland!!!

Janine, our stockings say our first names b/c I got them before we were parents.

Q, I know it is crunch time. I am starting to get nervous. Yikes. T just said "hi" to everyone last year and they loved it.

MrsS, J is so funny. He knows what he likes!

Jas12, don''t feel guilty. Co is a smartie. Hope you feel better soon.
