OK, all this conversation about cages etc is too funny!
Lately Hunter has started showing his "will". He will squirm and cry and get so mad when I need to put on his coat, or when we take something from him he wants But I am being FIRM and Dh is trying
He''s only 13 months so no time outs obviously, and really he has no languange so cannot communicate any other way, BUT he is sure as heck not getting what he wants when he is behaving that way! If I am diaper changing or clothing changing or whatever and he does it, I hold him and look him in the eyes and calmly and firmly say "This is not an option, you have to X". And then wait until he calms down. I don''t think he knows what the heck is going on, but hopefully he gets the point that mommy means business and is the boss. If it is over a toy we have just been distracting him.
Today DH was commenting about how much easier a one year old is compared to a newborn. Amen to that. Sleeping through the night, he is more fun and intractive, dinners together as a family. SO much easier.
