Are there people out there who love the square design of the Princess cut but prefer the brilliance of the Brilliant/Radiant cut, or the new Jubilee?

If you love the Princess, post your vote now! Remember to give reasons!

If you love the Radiant/Brilliant cut, or the Jubilee, cast your vote!

Let''s hear the arguements, pros/cons, preferences!

I'm a Jubilee purchaser, but that doesn't mean I don't love Princess or Radiants either. I won't say why I love Jubilees. I think that's already apparent! I will explain why I STILL love Princess and Radiants though!

My beef with Princess cuts were the inconsistent cut qualities out in the market. Plus, even the best cut Princess diamonds still adhere to a facet pattern that was originally designed to maximize rough and not performance. But when you do find the needle in the haystack, it is amazing! If you love the Princess, don't give up... you can find a stunner!

Radiants, same thing. Especially since some are just cut cornerd Princess and others are branded. For me, not enough square Radiants were in the market.

If you like either of these styles, don't get bullied out of liking them. But be prepared to work real hard to find a great one!

Princess and jubilee. Can't decide. I don't really care for the crushed ice look of radiants...and this may sound odd, but they have no "center" and it confuses my eyes and I'm confused enough! I love the jubilee. It's pretty pricey though, and if you find a princess with an awesome depth, they can turn out to be not THAT much bigger per carat...But if you love the H&A look (who doesn't, really), then go for the jubilee...you CAN"T go wrong with one!!! ....They are very different looks. I admit I had a mental thing about 2 carats right now... and I couldn't get a F or G 2 carat jubilee so I got a princess with some good numbers and I'm happy with it!!! But I think I may get one in a few years....SO ya'll think a princess can't compete with a H&A...? well, take a look at this...which seems to hold its own with the rounds in the setting!

I like the Jubilee but I also like the princess---though in a very different way. Like More, I don't like radiants due the same reason. What appeals to me about a princess is the precise angles of the faceting; a radiant is just too swirly for me.

Come on guys!!! We only have three replys to this poll?

Well, there is no poll!

I haven't made up my mind yet. I'm in the process of looking for a diamond to buy within the next month or so and it'll depend on how good of a princess cut I can find within my price range.

Hi enyouartist,

Proud Radiant owner here!!

What I did not like about the princess cut is exactly what Hest and MMM like! Way too precise and cold for me, I like the cracked ice swirley look. It is true that some radiants are merely cut corner princesses and there is no specific standard for the Radiant, BUT I have to say that half of the fun of finding my stone was looking for it. I had viewed several radiants before I laid eyes on the "one"! I fell in love immediately!

As for the Jubilee, I will say up front that I have only seen pictures of one, but I am afraid that like the Regent, it may end up looking a lot like a round depending upon how it is mounted. In that case why not go with a round?? The reason I chose Radiant was because I wanted something very different from the round I had had for over 15 years.

Good luck making a decision!

Jubilee, for me.

Jubilee for me, too. I just love a stone with hearts and arrows.

Although I love most diamond shapes one way or another, for my 10 yr upgrade I am planning on a substantial (=large

) princess. I don't know precisely why in technical terms, but I just love the princess cut. And I know the gizmos prove me wrong but to me, a well cut princess is just as sparkly as a round/H&A. I never feel I "lose something" with the princess cut.

Me? techy in me loves precision so an Ideal H&A RB. Wife likes squares. Compromise was a Jubilee. Compromise? Who am I kidding! The Jubilee is spectacular.

I know the sentiment..

The techie in me loves precision, but I am not a big fan of RBs as I prefer something a little bit different.

So count me in for Jubilee!

But I absolutely think that all the other ones you mention have their own appeal (I'm not helping, am I?
