No changing diapers? LOL Whyever not? In my case, I just have to accept that at some point I will be changing a diaper whilst wearing my e-ring. At one point I had 3 under 3. I was changing I believe at least 20 diapers per day. I should get some kind of medal. Now I have 4 and only one in diapers, but having babies seems to be some sort of addiction of mine. Hopefully, having a beautiful diamond ring will deter my hormones better than all those diapers did! For the sake of my diamond, I may have to put my diaper changing days behind me...; HEIGHT: 66px" class="ibbquote">Date: 3/3/2010 5:18:16 PM

I'm the same as Diamond Seeker. I don't wear mine when sleeping, showering, cleaning, changing diapers (HA!) etc. I want my rings to last forever so I take good care of them.

Yikes. Cinna, I''m more worried for you during your commute than the darn ring. Conductors telling you not to wait at your stop??? They know the inside scoop about crimes etc.I think I spend too much time watching TruTV & 20/20 and stuff but that random commute crime really scares me. Even more now that I don''t do it all the time myself. Please be cautious! Do you have mace?![]()

If you want your rings to last a lifetime, it is a good idea to take good care of them. For me, that means wearing them mostly when I leave the house. I do not wear them when working in the house, showering, or when I sleep. As a result my rings still are in excellent condition.

I always wear it to bed, I figure if I have to get out fast (fire or?) I do not want to be looking for it!

I wear mine when I go out, but not around the house.
ditto. I don''t wear my to the gym though either.
ETA: as for why? my ring is 3 sided pave and I don''t want to risk unintentional abuse and added wear an tear around my house or out in about.

I wear my ring practically all the time. I do not wear it while sleeping, showering, or doing heavy duty chores. The minute I wake up it is on my finger, and it''s the last thing I take off at night. I get a lot of joy looking at it, and I will never tire of it. It goes everywhere with me, even when I travel - and we travel a lot. When I travel, I leave it in a bowl on the night stand next to the bed. At home, I have ring holders beside the sinks and on my night stand. I feel it is safer on my hand than anywhere else. I would feel naked if I were to leave the house without my earrings and rings!
I clean my rings every day, usually with some type of jewelry solution and a soft baby toothbrush. I also use my Sharper Image ultrasonic and Jewel Jet quite often. Besides a few scratches on the bottom of my ring, it still looks like new with no hint of platinum patina yet.
My sister is not allowed to wear her wedding ring, and she''s been married nearly twenty-three years (we got married six months apart). It sits in a safe. It''s not like they can''t afford a replacement if something should happen, as they are very, very well off financially.I feel sorry for her...
I hope that you both come to a reasonable decision.
Then consider me a true diamond lover!Date: 3/4/2010 3:04:41 AM

that is such a shame venice! Sometimes I wonder who these rings are for... some people put them on and never think about them again and they get gunked up and they don''t care - they were expected to have them and they got them and its done. Seems like your sister is in a similar situation where it was expected she get a ring but then isn''t allowed to wear it - why have it at all? Get something smaller you CAN wear. Some people only put them on when they go out and that makes me wonder if it''s just something to flaunt - to show to others more than to enjoy for yourself... like the enjoyment of the thing is primarily from the reactions of others. Then there are others yet who obsessively look at them and clean them and wear them even more when no one else is around... to me that is a true diamond lover![]()
Yeah, wedding band will never come off no matter what... well except when I''m dealing with strong chemicals maybe... depending on what I get!Date: 3/4/2010 4:03:09 AM

First 4 years I had it, I wore it pretty much 24/7 (off while cleaning and showering, but on otherwise). Then I changed the setting and my new one has pave (though not a lot of it) and wore it a lot when I first got it, but after i cracked one melee stone while sleeping, I started wearing it when I went out of the house only. Then we got married and I got my wedding band. That, I never take off (It''s pave too, but a different, more secure type of pave, and is only 2mm off my finger so it doesn''t get banged about). My engagement ring though... it probably gets worn a couple of times a week. Most of the time it''s in my safe. I also forget to put on my other jewelry in the morning, but... it doesn''t bother me when I''m not wearing it anymore. Now, if I ever forget my wedding band: PANIC!
