For the ongoing saga of my pinkish diamond, should I do rose gold prongs with a halo. Here''s an example of a halo with prongs.

Or should I do a bezel set one where the stone is flush in the halo and bezel set.

Here''s an example with an irradiated blue diamond

The bezel would be rose gold.

My setting, with the diamond, is shown in this thread. I have the option of replacing the white gold prongs with rose gold, or not having prongs and just bezel setting the stone.

Call me crazy, but I think the rose gold bezel setting is the best idea yet!

I say bezel - it''ll have enough details in the halo and shank even without prongs. Less is sometimes more.

P. S. Hope you know bezel will weaken the brilliance (but it can deepen the color if used properly).

I say prong set. If possible, 4 prongs rather than 6 as the setting is now. I think the prong setting will give that gorgeous stone its own identity in the ring (if that makes any sense!) IMO, in a bezel setting, the center stone gets kinda lost in the halo.

I wish I could help you. This is a hard decision. I would love it both ways bezel or prong as long as rose gold is incorporated.
