Hello: I am wondering if all prongs are in contact with the diamond in a particular design.I took the pics to a jeweler and he said two out of three prongs come in contact with the diamond but the 3 rd prong is just there ? I am not sure and can't see clearly form the picture? The picture is on " show me the ring "posted by Circe.I hope I am posting this on the right forum? She allowed me to copy her ring , but I am not that good at this and can't see if in fact all prongs grab the stone or not? Sorry but I am not sure how to attach the lovely picture here for you to see..I am working on my skills in that department.ONe day...thanks for your help..

hopefully Circe will see this thread or you might try posting in her thread asking her if all the prongs touch the stone.

you really can''t tell much from the photo but I don''t see why they all wouldn''t be touching?? I''m no expert though.

The center prong isn’t really a prong at all. It’s an artistic element of the setting. The stone is held in by 8 prongs, 2 on each corner. This design is perfectly secure and it’s a lovely look.
