Hi everyone
The wedding band I have does not sit up close to my engagement ring because the wedding ring hits up againts the prong of my engagement ring causing a gap. I was thinking of having my engagement ring reset. Its a round diamond set in 14kt white gold 6 prong head. I was thinking of having the diamond set in a platinum 4 prong head. Is platinum that strong? Would 4 prongs in platinum be as safe as 6 prongs in gold? Any advice would be helpful,
Thanks in advance :wavey:

4-prong setting is safe as well. Just check the prongs periodically to make sure the stone is not getting loose.

Have you thought about matching band?

Platinim is easier to bend than gold so the claws would need to be thicker.

it may be possible to remove some of the claw near the base where the wedding ring rubs?

Have you had a good jeweller look at it?
