:wavey:Hello all!
I have always loved wide estate wedding bands with carved rubies as shown in picture two.
Last week I won a ring on Ebay (my size a miracle!) that was very pretty stand alone but then my creative juices started flowing. I bought it with the intent to have a jeweler take out the middle diamond (on the diagonal row of 3) 4 stations in all and install 4 carved rubies so the band would resemble my inspiration pix.
Well the band came yesterday and it's so pretty and shiny that I think I am going to leave well enough alone and keep it just as is!
I never thought the diamonds would be so bright and the ring sans rubies would be a wow.
That's my whole story.. if I decide to have the rubies put in I shall post an update.
Thanks for sharing the smiles.IMG_2511.jpeg:D

That is so beautiful, I can see why you are leaving it as is.

It looks perfect on you. I am glad you're leaving it as it is, it's such a nice piece. The diamonds are so bright!

:dance:Oh thanks maryjane04!
I'm so happy with it too. A lovely surprise when I opened the box.

It's beautiful! I love a wide band and wish my stumpy fingers could hold one.

Thanks Catmom! I'm sure your fingers are long and lovely!!

LOL, oh no, no they are not. Stumpy doesn't even begin to describe them. I have exactly 5/8ths of an inch from the base of my ring finger to the start of my knuckle. I have serious finger real estate envy.

One more.. I had to resize the picture as it was too large.

It's so lovely, and absolutely gorgeous on your hand!! I'm also a fan of the wide deco/mid-century bands, and they're so hard to find in my size. But hopefully some day I'll find one that looks as lovely as yours. :)

Thanks so much lala646!
I love them too.. something so romantic about the look.
I am guessing your finger is either on the smaller end or larger end of sizes if you have trouble finding one in your size. Me too.. finding this in a 4.5 was a rarity.
Good luck finding one for yourself!!

I'm forever hopeful that I'll find the right one some day. I'd need a size 9 or slightly larger depending on width, so they tend toward both rare and expensive. :/

I love this ring. It’s so fluid & substantial & pretty. It would look fantastic with rubies should you ever go that way, but I would also be very happy with it as it is.

HI:

This is not a tale of woe for sure! Gorgeous band (so feminine) and looks gorgeous on your hand! You have lovely wide bands and absolutely rock them!!!!

And bonus you got it on ebay--estate jewels WOOHOO!!!! Enjoy!!!

cheers--Sharon

:wavey:Thanks Ally T!
I might end up "rubifying" it in the future but I think for now I shall enjoy it as is.:D

:wavey:Helloooo Sharon!
Oh I got such a great deal on Ebay! The auction started at a dollar and you know those ones always close lower than the ones that start higher.
Thanks thanks thanks for all the sweet compliments!

Very pretty ring! So nice to find that the work you planned wasn’t needed. You might find another band with rubies that you will love too - how is that for enabling? Lol!

What are friends for? Keeping the faith and enabling them!

How lovely! Congratulations!

Very nice! It does look lovely on your hand as it is. Its very wide but the piercings/negative space in the design make it look very light and airy.
