Hi,

I''m searching for a great princess in the 0.6 to 0.9 carat range for a solitaire engagement ring. This link proved useful:
http://www.gemappraisers.com/chrt4.htm

Some princesses have tables smaller than the ''ideal'' 62%.. some go down to 57%. Is this generally good or bad?

I read that the table should not be larger than the depth. My question is what is a good ratio?

Say we had a 68% table.. what would the better depth be? 68%, 69% 75%?

At the end of the day.. is it impossible to judge a princess by its specs on the net?

Check the charts on Gem Appraiser again - if you have a depth of 68%, and you don't want your table wider than your depth, the only range left for ideal cut is 62% to 68%. I'd choose a bunch of stones on the net and run the numbers on the DIY at gemappraisers - see what proportions yield what ratings.
