Hi,

I''ve been looking for a diamond for a while and have come to the decision that I''m looking for a princess or radiant cut, H or I color, VS1-S1 clarity, and hopefully between 1.3 and 1.5 carats. I''ve found these so far ... what does everyone think? Any recommendations on princess vs radiant? Any other diamonds meeting this criteria people have found?

Thank you so much!

If you can''t decide between a radiant and a princess then have a look through the videos on the GOG website so you can see each cut in action. It might help you to find which cut you prefer.

The 1.32 Carat J SI1 is a bit deep and faces up small so I would say that was a weak link. Also if you can afford it I would stay with the higher color and clarity.

How about this one from GOG?

Welcome!

Princess and radiant do have very different appearances to each other, I would recommend you try to look at some in person to see which you like best. Regarding Princess, the AGS0 graded diamonds should be lovely stones and well worth further investigation, I wouldn't worry about the depth of the J SI, depth doesn't influence a fancy shape the same way as a round, as it is an AGS0 I would still consider it if you like the diamond.

If you want to pursue radiants online, it would be best to work with a vendor who has the diamonds in house, and has done the cut analysis and can provide photographs of the radiants. These shapes as will all fancy shape stones, can't be evaluated by numbers, so detailed photos and preferably ASET images are essential.

Thanks for your reply, that one is really nice. I''ll add that to the list.
