Hi everyone, Ive been reading these forums for a couple days, great talk. I am new to this but have been doing research. Can you tell me which of these you think is the best deal? Is it worth paying extra for IF clarity?

Thanks in advance
Chris

Hi and welcome to PS

Not a princess expert but the second one I''d skip due to the very thin to thick girdle.

Is it worth paying extra for IF clarity?
in my opinion, no. not when you can get a vs (not vvs) stone for much less and you still won''t see any inclusions.

this is ...okay
vvs1 is still overkill on clarity

''if'' clarity is defiintely overkill. ''extremely thin to very thick'' is a bad sign. not at all good for a princess girdle.

the color/clarity combo is good.

you really don''t have enough information to get a good idea of what these stones are like but i gave you my impressions of each, based on what you have. if you are going to be spending $$$$$ on a diamond, make sure you know what you are getting. who graded these stones? what are the dimensions? these are some very basic, yet very important pieces of information.

bella what qualities do you look for in a princess?

below is what my research told me I should be looking for: anything else to add?

Color : g-i
clarity - si1-si2
ratio: 1.0-1.05
depth: 68-75
table: 68-75
tables < depth
girdle- Very thin - thick
polich - excellent to good
symmetry - excellent to good
fluorescent - none - faint

Sorry, not Belle but Very thin girdles may not be the safest choice. thin to medium is better than say thick (which would probably mean it looks small for the carat weight). I suppose you''ve looked at Mr Atlas'' chart regarding princess cuts?

#1 and #3 read the best. Now which one looks the nicest? You should have
one or both sent to you to see how you like them, or send one or both to one
of the many independent appraisers listed in the Pricescope directory here who
would be pleased to help analyze and use their expert eyes. You then could
readily make a purchase with confidence in your selection.

Where did you find those diamonds? The prices are really good. I''ve been looking to trade in my princess and go larger.
In regards to the paying more for IF. No. I have an SI1 and it''s very pretty. It has one flaw that you can kinda see, but not from the top. You have to put it in bright light and turn it a certain way on it''s side. Just be careful, find out where the flaws are. Some are close to the top which you will probably see.

Thanks for the replies everyone. These listings are off of Blue Nile which I know some people don''t like going with but I haven''t heard of anybody that has been disappointed with their stone once they received it. Plus the 30day exchange period is important to me as I am overseas right now and it will be a week or two between me ordering it, receiving it, and proposing.
