Princess cut recommendation

What happened to cushions? ;(

Ok, either the .985 I VS1 or the .996 H VS1. They are very similar, just the color difference. Ask WF if they agree with the grading.

Hellooo,

Would anyone be kind enough to offer their opinion or suggestions on the following rocks:
All of these diamonds are beautiful. I dont think you could go wrong with any of them. I will nit pick below tho

more expensive, less symmetical

less defined faceting- quite splintery, most expensive

faces up marginally the largest, $600 cheaper than #2

very nice, $600 cheaper than #2

Any help advice is much appreciated!!

Cheers

I would go for either 3 or 4. I would phone WF and ask them to give their opinion irl to help decide between those last two.

They are all two chevrons and same crown faceting, cut in the same style and incredibly consistent between the 4. How do you figure one has less defined faceting and is more splintery?

Right now I would choose the first because the cut is equally good with every princess and the first is an H. I used to recommend I color princesses all the time - after all, I have an I color ACA and it's really beautiful. However, I've become a lot more color-sensitive over time, and now I wish I would have bought something in the F-H range. I can perceive the color from the side (not as much from the top), and it bothers me. I color can save you a lot of money because it's a big jump up to H at the same size and clarity, but I'd spring for the H if you can afford it.

#4 (.996 H VS1).

Hey guys,

Thanks a lot for the advice. I'm leaning towards #1 or #4... not sure if the H color is worth the $500 premium.

Also is 0.965 ct noticeably smaller than 1ct? Or is it a matter of a slice of paper or two?

Cheers

You absolutely will not see the size difference, that's how minuscule it is! If you're more concerned with getting the most for the money you want to pay, then I think #1 is a great compromise (.965 I VS1).

Are you set on buying from WF? This is a little more expensive at a bit over $5900, but it's gorgeous and F color. The dimensions aren't far off from some of the ones at WF despite the slightly smaller carat weight.

This one is $5893 by wire and a bit bigger. It's close to the ideal 5.5mm dimension of a 1ct princess.

Seriously look into this one at JA. G color, great spread (bigger than the WF choices), looks really well-cut...and look at the price! Ask them for an ASET and compare it to the WF ones. Honestly, this would probably be my pick even above all the WF ones AND the 2 I just posted above due to the beauty and price. Click on the pic to see the diamond rotate and sparkle in video.
