I am in the market for a princess cut diamond for an engagement ring. Can anyone tell me what the perfect measurements would be for a 1.00 carat princess cut diamond?

Additionally, here are some of the options that I have. Which one is the best rock?

1) 1.00c VS2 H - (5.54 x 5.32 x 3.91)
2) 1.01c Vs1 F- (5.52 x 5.33 x 4.19)
3) .96c Vs2 G - (5.68 x 5.25 x 3.72)

You really need more information. At least table % and girdle info for a start.

Fuffi's right - although those stones look small for their carat weight. Most well-cut 1 ct.'s will be 5.60 or larger. It may be those are cut really deeply - something to watch out for in princesses.

www.gemappraisers.com is a good place to start. They have a chart on princess cuts which shows the different categories of cut.

A fourth! These would look way smaller than better cut peers in the same weight range because of the deep cuts. There is no trade-off, this depth does not help the appearence of the stones... Also, you do have quite a range of color grades... of which G is perhaps a nice tradeoff, and H would be a no-excuse white in a 1 ct stone, while F would require a premium for the pedigree. Of course, the choice is yours. Vs2 nad even Si1 should be readily eye clean and a good choice if you get to see the stone in person before final purchase. Of course, VS1 represents extra safety (no worries about clarity), but is not a requirement.
