Hi. I would go down in clarity and color for studs. It looks like the last 2 diamonds are very close in size. If you never want to upgrade your studs you might look at Whiteflash and their ready set to go studs. They are very popular here on Pricescope. Have fun shopping.

Hi Marcy, for the tip. Would love to take the easy way out by buying preset studs. But then would also love to build my own earrings as a challenge to myself ;) I have checked out several sites and this one-Mike from McGivern Diamonds came back to me the fastest with the following specs. What do ya think and have u heard of them?

Princess 0.50 G VS2 EX EX GIA N 75.1% 75% 4.33x4.20x3.15 $1112
Princess 0.51 G VS2 EX EX GIA N 74.4% 74% 4.26x4.24x3.15 $1112

Ah yes and the catch is for the settings in either 14K white or yellow gold is an additional of $100. Too good to be true?

can you get images? impossible to tell anything about cut quality from numbers, unless you can get AGS0.

I'd check the in-house selection at WhiteFlash and Brian Gavin Diamonds for ideal cut princess pairs for earrings. They both have a track record here for excellent stones and customer service.

Whats a AGS0? Sorry for being a diamond retard :? I have asked for some pictures but the vendor said he cant provide any but can only email me the GIA certs. BTW, do you know what does clarity characteristics on the cert means?

Hmm...I came across this site Israel Diamonds. Their prices seem reasonable to me. But their diamonds are mostly EGL certified rather than GIA. Just wondering why EGL certified diamonds are cheaper than GIA? Saw this quite nice looking pair of round brillant, with actual pictures and GIA certs-1 .14 ct H/SI2. What do ya think?

EGL diamonds are 'cheaper' than GIA of the same specs because EGL is softer on grading color/clarity.

AGS, unlike GIA, grades cut of princess, so if you are buying without images it is safest to go with AGS0 (AGS highest cut grade).

The 2 GIA certs you posted look great for earrings. The size is slightly different but in earrings I doubt you would notice. Since they can't provide pictures hopefully they are in house so the jeweler can make sure they do match for earrings.

I agree I would stick with GIA or AGS if you can't see the diamonds in person. I will be excited to see your PC studs. I have mine on today.

They look like a good match, but as others mentioned, we can't tell you if they will perform well. Some people say cut quality doesn't matter as much for earrings because people don't look at them up close, but my philosophy is always to go for the best cut possible.
