Hello,

I''m close to buying a 1.02 carat princess cut diamond and am a little confused about the table/depth and thickness and am hoping someone can give me feedback on if what I''m looking at are good measurements.

GIA graded:

measurements: 5.59 x 5.54 x 4.03mm

depth: 72.7%
table: 75%
girdle medium to very thick
cutlet: none
polish: excellent
symmetry: very good

clarity grade: SI1
color grade: G
fluorescence: none

Thanks for any help you can offer!

Rick

hey rickd

welcome to ps!

have you seen this stone? do you have any more information on it...or pictures?

Thanks! I have seen the stone...it''s at a local diamond store. It looks very nice but to be honest, they all look so similar to my un-picky eye. The problem is my girlfriend and future fiance is very particular and I want her to of course love her ring. The numbers and different combinations are a little overwhelming to take in. Thanks again, Rick

will she being seeing the ring and helping to select the diamond? if so, when it comes down to it, all that matters is that she is happy!
keep in mind that ALL diamonds look good and sparkly under those flooding jewelry store lights. try and see as many stones as you can for comparison and look at them away from those flood lights. when you look at the diamonds, tilt them just a bit and look for ''sparkles'' that really seem to be moving from within the stone. you shouldn''t have to move the diamond heavily under bright lights to get it to look alive. a well cut diamond will seem lively on it''s own.
