Hi all,

First post on the forum!
I am new to diamonds and I have decided I like the princess cut the most and I'm looking to buy one soon.
I have found one that is reasonably priced (0.5ct) and was wondering if someone could give me some advice on whether the specs of the diamond are any good. They are as follows (GIA Report):

Measurements: 4.30mm x 4.30mm x 3.12mm
Carat weight: 0.5
Color Grade: D
Clarity Grade: VS2
Polish: EX
Symmetry: EX
Ffliorescence: None
Clarity Characteristics: Cloud Crystal Feather
Depth: 72.5%
Table: 70%
Girdle:Sslightly thick to thick
Curlet: None

Your help would be much appreciated as I can only see pictures at the moment.

Regards,

Unfortunately we can't tell you much about the stone with out up-close pictures and an aset image. There is just not enough
information to tell you whether it is well cut or not. Did you find it on-line? If so, can you reserve it and provide us with a link
if it has pictures?

D may be a bit overkill for a stone in that size. go for an H and you'll be able to either get a bigger stone if you want it, save some money, and you won't notice much difference in color

Agree. I have a g colour si1 Princess which is dazzling white and totally eye clean! I would go lower in color and clarity and get a bigger stone obviously ensuring cut is king.

Thanks for your reply guys, that makes sense.
I will search around for lower clarity and colour and see what I find. If I did drop to a G an d maybe Si1/Si2, roughly how big can I go for the same price? Are we talking 0.6-07ct? Is there a general rule to this?
