So for the past 3 months I have been looking at a jewelry store in the mall called Rogers & Hollands. I am getting ready to propose and was just browsing. Long story short, every time I have been in there they always want me to buy right there and than. (They say every time, "We are having a huge sale that just might not be here next time." I work for a retail company and figured that their aggressive behavior meant they must be on commission and have a very large mark-up on their diamonds. So today I went back to the lady I have been seeing and asked if they matched online prices. They said no because theirs comes with a guarantee.I really have no idea what I am looking for when it comes to the Princess cut Diamond. I have tried research and it seems like an endless loop.

I am looking to spend roughly 5000,6000 dollars. My question is, should I buy online like at a place of bluenile.com or is Rogers and Hollands worth it? And if I do buy online, how do i know if that diamond has the extreme fire I am looking for?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Justin

Welcome, Justin!
Weekends are a little slow around here. But you''ll get lots of help as people sign on to the forum.

But as a start, do a search on this forum on "AGS 0 and princess cuts" to learn about what goes into a good princess cut and read some threads on others'' experiences in finding a good princess cut. You''ll see a lot of information/photos that will help you.

I don''t have time now to link to these vendors, but all of these vendors sell quality AGS 0 princess cuts:
Whiteflash
Crafted by Infinity (cutter) - look on their website for dealer nearest you; I have worked with High Performance Diamonds
Good Old Gold.

You can search for diamonds on their site and get an idea of carat weight, prices, etc.
Also, do a search on Robbins Brothers on this site, and see what other people''s experiences have been with that company.

Good luck!

Thanks for the help. So far I have found this diamond. What do yous guys think of it? Good or bad, what should be better?

Looks good.

Something to keep in mind....princess cuts face up a little smaller than round brilliants (does anyone have the chart handy?). What about this one?:

Is the $5000-$6000 just for the diamond?

Thanks for the replies, I was hoping 5k-6k would be total cost. I am not sure how to read the pictures. That diamond you posted does look amazing though!
