Thinking of wedding bands now, specifically princess cut channel set one, something like this James Allen one. It would pair with a round cut in round halo french pave e-ring.
Reasons going this route are to have a secure band for everyday wear, having smooth sides for better comfort, and princess cut melees fit closer together and shows no/less gap in the channel compared to rounds.
My concern is just how "sparkly" princess cut melees would be in a channel set compared to similar quality rounds. With how they are cut and placed so close together, doesn't less light get into a princess cut melee? I figure if round melees are high performing (H&A, eye-clean, ACA, CBI, etc.), then at a typical viewing distance and angles, the gaps between the melees are effectively hidden with the refracting light. Plus, rounds seem generally more affordable than princess cut of similar 4Cs.
Will be trying to see some different ones in-person soon, but I wanted to see if we have some examples here on PS of going with princess vs. round cut melees in channel set, thanks!
