Which is better to have on the region outside of the table (the crown?): a green region or a region that is pretty much equal red and blue?

I'd have to see the 2 ASETs in question to make a decision. I don't think one is necessarily better than the other; I think you have to take the whole ASET in context.

It's hard to say without seeing the ASET of the stone, and knowing what you want as far as patterning and the look of the stone
Red ( light from above angled down) and blue (shadow from light blocked directly above) will give you lots of black and white contrast. Green indicates light from the side pulled in and reflected (like candle light) these areas are less likely to be bright.
But, everything in balance right?

I'm not a princess expert, but I can show you what I think looks good

This stone has what I like in an aset, plenty of red, no light hole in the center, and a nice contrasting pattern of blue
http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/8022/

This stone also has a nice ASET mix and a slightly different look to the stone http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/7872/ this stone might even look prettier than the first one even though the ASET shows more green - you'd have to see a video to tell the difference.

This stone shows plenty of red light return but the lack of blue to contrast may make it less interesting and perhaps a little less beautiful
http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/8037/

This stone has an asymetrical ASET and the contrast patterns look a little lumpy http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/7257/

This stone is likely to be a poor performer given it's ASET. Notice how it has very little contrast? http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/7626/

Please excuse me for using all GOG stones as examples - I was lazy and didn't feel like looking all over the net for examples. Any other PS vendor such as Whiteflash, High Performance Diamonds, Engagement Rings Direct, Brian Gavin etc. could find you a princess with top light performance.

That helps a TON! Thank you. So do you like either of these better? Or no since they have a light hole in them? Do they both have too much red?

is that 2 stones or 4?

I think the real ASETs both look great. I'm sure the other ones are nice too but the real picture is better than the computer simulated

2 stones. So there isn't too much red in them?

Both of those stones look good, I think the contrast patterning on the first stone could be a bit prettier, but both look like they give excellent light return. Have you seen regular pictures of the stones themselves, or better yet a comparison video between the two?

I think you've found some winners!

Here are the links to the two diamonds:

As much as I would like to, I'm not sure that I can justify the extra $2000 for the second one though...

Can I ask for a comparison video?

I don't think BGD does videos but you could always ask. if you are open to SI1 this one from WF could get you over the 1 carat mark

I am open to SI1, in fact I had considered http://www.whiteflash.com/loose-diamonds/princess-cut-loose-diamond-2642472.htm, although now I am not sure that there is enough contrast. You don't think that there is too much leakage in the one that you had mentioned?

The ASETs both look great, but this is why it's important to see photos...because I like the facet patterning of this one MUCH better than the other:
http://www.briangavindiamonds.com/diamond/diamond-detail/?product_id=AGS-104047574004

I also like both of the WF choices and don't think there's too much leakage or not enough contrast. The other one from BGD would be my last choice, simply because I don't like those big black chunks that show up in the photo.

So the 1ct BGD is the one you like best?

All three of them are pretty much equivalent to me in terms of faceting pattern, cut quality, etc. If it were up to me, I'd go with the G/SI1 from WF because it's both the cheapest and the biggest of those three.

Thank you. I think I will have the G/SI1 from WF and the BGD one shipped in and make a decision. I REALLY appreciate your help.

Good idea to compare them in person; then you can really see if it's worth the extra cash to get the BGD one. Please let us know how it goes!
