He should be protected. This is family hostility at play. It's not fair, whether you like him or not.

I think it makes the royal family look far less than royal. Our children don't always do what we want or agree with us but would we put their lives and our grandchildren's lives in danger? I'm starting to think they get rid of family members who cause them any anxiety...

Thank you posting this interview @kenny.

I find all of this terribly sad. I look at this situation and see a lot of hurt and pain on the sides of all involved. Losing people you love is extremely devastating.

Regardless of if this family ever reconciles, Harry and his family need and deserve to be protected.

I’m very curious about how @Ally T, @Austina, @Daisys and Diamonds and anyone from that part of the world views this.

I’m sorry @Austina, I forgot you no longer live there. God, I’m getting old.

It is very sad. He should be afforded protection in my opinion, regardless of the family situation. The ugliness of refusing to keep one’s child safe - if possible - is not something to be proud of or a stand to take. Shameful.

I don't know if this is true, but The Independent says the security they are seeking is IPP or International Protected Person status. If they get that, then the US will have to foot the bill for 24/7/365 security for them while they live here. And I'm not too keen on my tax dollars paying for security for people raking in 100 million dollar deals.

Please note that I have no personal knowledge of the situation, so apologies if The Independent got it wrong.

Harry was told what was what by the late Queen and that he would loose police protection if he chose to be a non working royal, paid for by the tax payer he knew, he choose this , he had a year's grace to make up his mind

why should the UK taxpayer pay for his security when he isnt a working royal and he doesnt live in the UK ?
just like the York princess (and their parents) do not get protection and for that matter neither do Anne or Edward and Sophie unless they are on offical bussines -

when he comes to the UK he will get police protection paid for by the tax payer as deemed needed by the police just like any other high profile person, no one is denieing him that

he has also been offered accomidatio in royal residences aka Buckingham palace, but he needs to give a few weeks notice, these residence already have protection so it would not cost the tax payer extra -like when the King had his prostrate opp in the same hospital as Princess Catherine to save on cost to the taxpayer for extra police protection

but he chooses to stay in hotels, probably because they wont let a netflex camera crew into the palace
if he feels so unsafe in the UK why does he go to countries like Columbia and Nigera not to mention Ukraine which is you know at war ?????

i think its the IPP status which would give them immunity from prosecution and also inside info in to some state affairs that they would just blab to people magazine that they are really after

i have zero sympathy after the lies they have continuoiusly spouted and the hurt they inflicted on the late Queen,Prince Philip, the King, Queen Camila, Catherine, William , their children ,and other close family, not too mention how he disrespected the commonwealth calling us Empire 1.2

as usual Harry is only telling part of the story and some news sources contniue to only tell the story from H&M's point of view

the courts of justice have repeatadly looked into his case and then said no,
what are all these apeals costing the taxpayer ?
i see he has to pay court costs of over a million dollars this time

i feel very strongly on this, we used to love Prince Harry but now we see who he really is
he has treated his family disgustingly, i do not for one second doubt that the king still loves him but the king is sick and this is causing unnessarly stress on him, and Harry would know that
why isnt he just living the life he said he wanted of privacy ? but no! they have to try and upsatge everything the royal family does,
he aid he wanted out of royal life but they continuingly covert publicity
lets see what stunt they pull on VE day on Monday ?

excuse bad spelling always much worse when im worked up about something

my alligance will always be with the King, not a traiter
presumably Harry took a simliar oath to what i took when i was in the army but it must have ment nothing to him

Thank you for explaining how this works Daisys and Diamonds and sharing your view. I find the breakdown of any family very sad. I also don’t understand deliberately saying or doing things to be hurtful.

your welcome
i think the ipp status would mean taxpayers would have to pay for his security where ever he goes, American tax payers in the US, Canadian taxpayers in Canada, UK tax payers in the UK etc
this wold be very unfair on poor countries

IPP ststus is usually for heads of state and other important people not just becuase you are rich and famouse, Its a UN thing
i think he would become a huge secuity rick as he cant keep his mouth shut

and it is 28 days notice he needs to give the UK for police protection, to give them time to make arrangements, to descide what level of security he needs etc that doesnt seem unfair to me

he said very unkind things about the marrage of William and Catherine which is sad as they used to seem to be so close

btw despite my spelling i passed the army IQ test, and that was as an enlisted 'man'
Harry had to redo the last year of primary school
and a few years ago it came out he cheated on his high school results with a teacher doing his art home work for him https://www.nzherald.co.nz/world/te...ing-tribunal-told/KU7UBY2RKEGTUAAECWOTB5BYTI/
how in earth did he get into officer training at Sanhurst ???
officer training has a big academic element

Daisys has explained it very well & thank you for making things easy to understand, as its a very complicated issue.

I just think it’s really sad that they have such division in their family. I also think that we probably don’t know the half of what’s gone on, but I suspect Harry constantly talking to the press, writing about his life & doing interviews where he says negative things about his family, would be a huge driver in them no longer wanting to entertain him or help him out. He made his bed etc…

I'm from a commonwealth country too. While we loved the Queen, it has all gone downhill since her death. I've supported the idea of this monarchy in the past, but no longer. These are incredibly entitled people. I would like to see it all fold to be honest. To be royal by birthright is not a modern idea. Lovely jewels, but mortal, flawed people with somewhat miserable public lives. They are not loved everywhere.

His own doing, don't blame anyone else for not being able to keep what were supposed to be private conversations with his father public.

He cannot be trusted.

His mis-calculated the consequences of his decision to be a working royal.

He made the bed now sleep in it for what it is worth.

Not going to comment any further about him and his wife, good luck to them, and good riddance for the King and the Prince of Wales I'd say. Who needs friends when one has 'family' like the pair of them?!
