Price of aquamarine ring? Pics included. :)

Hello everyone! It is my first post here.


I went to an auction and bought what I thought was a white gold blue topaz ring. When I went to get it sized, the jeweler said it was an aquamarine ring. I did not ask what the value was. I paid $290 for this ring.


Anyone know what the value could be?

Hope I didn''t get ripped off!

Unfortunately, I can barely see anything. The pictures are too small to make up any detail at all other than it is a ring with a large squarish center stone.

Blue topazes are very inexpensive, from a few cents to a few dollars, so the bulk of the value is in the setting. They also come in a range of different blues from light to dark blue.

Did the jeweller do any testing to tell conclusively that you have an aqua? Somehow I don't think just eyeballing it will reveal anything. However, if you do have a aqua of that dark colour and size, then you certainly got a steal.
