How does price matching work with diamonds? I here and see that there are vendors that price match how does that work when every stone is a little different do they just take report for what it says on size, color, clarity, cut. I have always wondered maybe someone knows.
Most vendors have a virtual inventory, that is there are many stones for sale from many vendors that are the exact same stones. Not all vendors have the same amount of overhead, so markups, and therefore prices, vary.
There are several online stores who show Loose diamonds and you will find same stones are appearing on the different online stores
with same certificate number, basically these online stores do not own the stones but they share the inventory but the stock numbers
are different on each store online. The prices and stock numbers are different on each site, every company pre-determine the profit
margin so you would find prices different on every site, some are priced very low and some little higher depending on the company.
Some of the companies does price match meaning if you find the same stone (Exact same stone) on different site, than they will match
the price that way they will not lose the business.
I would suggest you to only buy the diamond from the reputable stores, there have been many happy customers from James Allen,
B2C Jewels recently and I am sure they would price match as well.
