I had my wife's marquise 2.87 diamond ring appraised 2/26/1992
It is brilliant cut measuring appx. 12.61 in length, 7.80 in width and 4.92 in depth, I/1 clarity grade, g/h color grade, thick to very thick faceted gordle, medium culet. fair to pretty good symmentry and good polish.

It appraisede for $22,745.00.

Does anyone know how much it migh appraise for today.

I may be able to encourage wife wife to sell it, she doesn't wear
it any longer, because of crime & fear of loosing it.

thanks raysmitha1

TO THE INDEPENDENT APPRAISOR FROM SAROSOTA:

The ring was not apprised by a fellow. It was apprised by one of the most prominent jewlery chains in Florida, {Mayor's}. I had not had any reason to question it's value until now. The appraisal was retail.

Your ring was grossly over appraised in 1992.

You need a current appraisal from a competent appraiser. Somebody other than the fellow who appraised it then.

Rich is right - if you have been paying insurance on that figure you may have been paying more than you need to.
if you loose the diamond your ins co will replace the stone for a lot less.
high appraisals make ins co's rich!

Let's see, 6% (normal seller advertised) rate of appreciation over 11 years...that's $43,176. Yow.

Bob, I'll guess actual retail price as $15,000. To know for real send it to Rich!
