Price for Dvatche X-Prong Setting

I just bought a Dvatche X Prong Setting for $1000. I called before we got to the jeweler and he had quoted me at $850 but that was for the round diamond setting. We chose the princess cut setting which he said was $150 more. Also, he said that he needs to order the setting for us and that''s why it cost more. Did I get ripped off or did I get a good deal?

Jade888, you paid regular price: Vatche, as many other designers or manufacturers of branded products, "recommends" retail prices for his models and retailers cannot sell for less. It's called "brand protection" don't confuse with "price fixing".

Rolex prices would be another examle of the same practice.
